Difference between AMD & Intel for those who can't be bothered
AMD CPUs are faster in theory, however Intel CPUs are faster in practice/performanceThe main difference lies in the cache, for those of you who don't know I'll explainThe cache acts as the main processing sink within each core/processor.It pertains to the size of the memory per instance/per processWhen data is being processed, its broken into tiny bitesizes so the cpu can handle the workload in a streamline fashion and then the data is reassembled once the task is complete. Intel boasts a magnificent 22MB cache, where AMD ryzen technology is still plateau'd at around 4MB per coreThis means that the size of the memory/data being accessed and processed per task is 4 times larger, essentially allowing the Intel CPUs to do their workload in larger bulks of data per process, where as the AMDs can do smaller, at higher speeds.There's more to processing than mere speed however. If you can handle larger chunks, you'll naturally get your task done faster!For a 16 core, 32 threaded processor, that means that there are 2 threads in every core, working on 22 MB data packet, every nanosecond at a speed of 3.1GHz (or 4.4GHz turbo), in contrast to a Ryzen that would have on average 8 core, 16 threaded processor, working on 4 (8MB data for the new batch of ryzen 9x coming out soon) every nanosecond at a speed of 4.0GHz (or 4.3GHz turbo).Do the math, you'll realize raw speed is not the answer.AMD has amazing speedIntel has amazing speed and power!
