You don't have to pay a monthly fee.
Great camera and Pro has temperature, humidity and air quality, so you can be anywhere if you have your cell phone and check your home or vacation property and be sure the place is still intact and furnace is working, etc. They do have a security service similar to SimpliSafe, but I actually use SimpliSafe for this; I added the Canaries to double check that all is well when no one is home. The only slightly inconvenient thing is you get unwanted adds sometimes when you are checking your home on the internet. Usually they are short and you can opt out in a few seconds. Also you do, of course, need wi-fi working at the site of the camera. One other thing is annoying about the temperature and humidity and air quality: often it goes to a default setting, especially if you don't check it frequently (74 degrees, 35% humidity and 30 air quality rating) just reboot Canary a couple times and the actual temperature, etc. comes up.

Canary gives me peace of mind when I’m not home
This camera is a great bang for your buck! The good:- person/dog detection- air quality sensors- calling emergency personnel- lots of recording&space- many options to tune notifications/alerts for home and away modes- sleek design- Ethernet port- Price- Tagging videos (so when the canary identifies motion as a person or something else you can actually go back and specify what it was. I imagine this helps canary better clarify the difference)The bad/okay:- camera quality is okay. Does the job but there are better- identifies dogs as people (can result in a surplus of notifications)- Slow loading (can sometimes take 15-20 seconds to get live feed from camera)Overall I’m very happy with this camera. For $100 this thing crushes the competition. I’ve used the Logi circle for over a year and got frustrated with it even tho it was over $200. The main attraction to me for this camera is the air quality sensors that can help identify when a fire is happening. The person detection works great and I love the amount of options there are to set alerts for temperature and movement. Really gives a peace of mind.

Canary used to be a great camera - now they charge for features that were originally included
I think I am done with Canary camera - I have 6 of them now but plan to change them all out in the future. I bought this Canary Pro for $95 (I also pay $20/month billed manually for Premium Service). When I went to connect the new camera to replace an old camera - I was required to pay $49.99 for the new camera and then get a “pro rated” amount credited to me when I deactivated the old camera. I talked to Canary support who was very confusing and I am pretty tech savvy. I am returning the camera and researching a new option. When I first bought a Canary camera - a lot of the Premium features were free. Somewhere along the way they changed the rules and now charge monthly for many features. My neighbor thinks they should be taken to court for misleading consumers - he is done with them too!

Good quality
The cameras themselves are great cameras. The quality is good, and motion detection is good. It is easy to set up and the night vision works well. I love that this one has the temperature, air quality, and humidity built in. The only downfall is that even if you have an active subscription with Canary, it is camera-specific, not account-specific.

Really cool device
Update: the product seems to lose connectivity at night (system updates?). Unfortunately, they occur at a time when a system administrator seems appropriate (12-3A), unfortunately, that's also when ppm are drunk or beat your neighbors spouse, so expect for the video to be spotty. Would be nice if the devices had a buffer for their downtime.Original: Setup was super easy. The 2-way voice isn't working though, so I suspect I have a defective product. Just emailed support today, but we will see.One of the coolest features is the air quality detection. I didn't even get it for that purpose. Lastnight, to test it, I took some spoiled food out of the fridge, but rather than using the garbage disposal, I threw it away to see if the sensor detected it, and IT DID (image). I wished the air quality and temperature was on the top of recordings next to the timestamp though (I have problems with my AC going out in my apartment, and this record would be useful for evidence of breach of agreements). The Noonlight feature is a cool plus too (panic button).

Easy to setup
Connected to internet easily. Set up in room - adjusted line of sight and we had a security camera that has a crystal clear view. We have already ordered a second camera for another room.
