The bean stop plate may not be pulled out. Try pulling the bean stop plate all the way out.

Q: 2.Why is E1 displayed?

Maybe the dial is not in place. You can properly reattach the dial, or please remove the power plug from the outlet and leave it for 10 minutes to cool down before using it again

Q: Why is the default setting 10? Can I make it finer?

You can turn it finer down to level 1, but going past 1 isn't recommended — it may cause the burrs to rub together.
