The pole certainly looked good and sure looked promising, until I assembled the thing. After using the pole a couple of times, the bottom fixture couldn’t be tightened enough. The bottom of the pole began to slip and wasn’t usable with a pool brush. I tightened it as much as possible by hand, but it slipped just as bad. I had to go to my old standby pole that is missing a handle because that one’s reliable. Pass in this pole!

Perfect... strong pole

There was something on the pole that made it VERY sticky. Fortunately over time it's wearing off, but the first few times using it, my hands were covered in sticky goo. And I'm guessing the water doesn't drain out of the handle completely but if you use it, put it away, then use it again and extend the handle - it smells really bad. Anyway, it's definitely sturdy enough and adjusts easily. The mount is standard to most pool devices (skimmers, brushes, etc.) and works as designed but deducting one star for the goo and the smell. Maybe all handles smell like this, but having had one previously, I don't know.

I bought for friends

Who says ALL pool skimmers have to be one 20' long pole?! This pole is compact when it's compressed when in a closet or in a storage room; when needed, it is very easy to telescope it and securely lock it at any of multiple different lengths.

The plastic had been previously torn off. The pole was bent length wise and at the end. The handle was all scraped up.BUT.....the box was in perfect condition.

This is a good looking unit - blue aluminum is striking. However if it needs to be telescoped out to it's full length or even close to it, get a larger model. It is awesome at 4 ft but breaks at 10-12.My unit could not keep the extensions straight. It will wiggle around in the socket and would slip in and out. Even with the white twist down knuckles at full tension.If you need a short pole, this is for you. If you need length, do your self a favor and order larger single pole units and not a telescoping one

This pool pole is great for several reasons.1. I can keep it in my deck box, out of the daily elements when not in use.2. I can use it from the side of the pool for an attached net for skimming as it's extension length is both significant and sturdy.3. Most Important and useful, I can use it for vacuuming BOTH from the side out of the pool and while IN the pool without having 8 unwieldy, extra feet to deal with.My original order/shipment came broken but I sent it back and got a replacement lickity split so no issues there.I would recommend this pool pole.
