Q: I want to use this for sewing supplies and would like to know if the top shelf supports a spool of thread and still close?

Yes, if the spool is lying down. (I use mine for nail polish. I grabbed a regular size spool and checked so unsure how many you could fit.)

Q: would the largest part fit a got2be hair spray bottle? i'm looking to use this for cosplay traveling :D

I own this storage box. I use it for craft stuff. It's probably plenty long and plenty wide for a spray bottle. The space beneath the folding tray is 2.5" from the bottom of the box to the bottom of the tray after the tray folds down. So if your bottle has a diameter of 2.5" or less, it would probably fit.

Q: How many dividers come with this?

4 removable dividers for the middle shelf. There are built in dividers/pockets in all 3 shelfs for multiple places for small items. Great for crafting.
