Small footprint and a nice display for quick measurements on my workbench
I wanted a benchtop/desktop meter for my work bench so I can keep it in place and available for fast measurements like checking battery voltage, component resistance, or continuity. This meter suits my needs. I like the fact that it doesn't take up much area and the display is very easy to read even at an angle. It's not as accurate as my other DMMs because the voltage reading has a noticeable scaling error, and I think some other reviewers have mentioned that accuracy could be better. But for the price, I think it's acceptable, and I rated five stars overall because of the other nice features it has.

Mine came with a European power cord
The instrument I received came with a European power cord (CEE 7/7 to IEC320 C13), but included a US 3 pin adapter, a little awkward, but ok. Otherwise the Owon XDM1041 is easy to use, reasonably accurate, and at a great price point.

Shipped without a power cable.
Well, I had high hopes for this, but it’s missing the power cable. They route you to the manufacturer website in Korea, which is unreachable. I guess I’ll have to purchase a power cable and then finish my review. It’s also missing a replacement fuse… lame

Just buy it!
Replaced my expensive B+K Precision Bench DMM because I could not get a simple replacement display for it. I really like this Owon Bench DMM. Does everything the B+K did for us and more. The price point is also excellent! Just buy it, Cletus likes it! :)

Amazon description wasn't accurate...
I bought this because the choice/size was "battery powered". It is NOT battery powered - has to be plugged into the wall. I haven't used it at all and missed the return window.I will eventually use it once I get my workshop together, but the primary reason for buying it was to use it working on vehicles.

Nice meter, but you'll get bored waiting for a measurement.
Title says it all. Deathly slow to provide a reading. Otherwise, seems like a nice meter.

Accurate but VERY SLOW
This multimeter is very accurate compared to hand held multimeter that cost around $50 but its very very slow in its reading.Continuity test BEEP is fast and you can cistumise at which resistance it will BEEP, thats awesome. How ever:It fails to read ceramic caps on board, while cheap multimeter does.It takes long time to get any cap reading, like 5-10 times longer the hand held multimeter.Same goes for resistors. Very slow but accurate. This is a big problem because most of the time, you assume component is broken and stop taking the reading. But the reading is not yet complete so you are making false assumption. If it was FASTER, i would give this 10 stars. With that said, it cannot be used reliably.
