Well made and worked like a champ...
This saved me a lot of $$$ and helped my steering play considerably. The best part was it wasn't difficult to install. Fit perfectly too... 1999 Chevy Tahoe with 340,000 miles on it.

Fits and works perfectly
Repaired 1997 Chevy Z-71 pickup with over 400,000 miles. Just a couple of bolts and new part fit great. Now steers well. Excellent value.

Tightened Up the Steering for Sure
Made my 1995 Chevy 2500 pickup easier to drive for sure! It was drifting in the driving lane pretty bad but now it tracks fairly straight. Nothing like it was. Of course it's not perfect (old truck) but 90-95% better. I'm satisfied with the purchase. Also saved $50-$150 over local auto parts store asking prices.Installation note: the OEM part came off (or goes on) the splines on the gear box with bolt only loosened. This Dorman replacement shaft would only go on (or off) with bolt out due to the slightly lower hole position. Other than that initial headache, it was an easy install.

Tightened steering up like a new car.
Wow what a difference in steering tightness on my 2000 Yukon. If you tightened the slack up in the steering box and you are sure your pitman, idler and all tie rods are tight then the rag washer in your steering intermediate shaft is probably the issue. Mine was complete junk after 265,000. I installed this and it steers like a new car. I had to very slightly open up the pinch section of the shaft where it goes onto the splines of the steering box and tapped it down gently with a wood dowel and a hammer. The side that attaches to the steering wheel shaft I just wiggled until it went on.
