Yup. The murder isn't chosen until guests arrive & its random (with everyone having 2 response to questions depending on whether or not they are the murderer. The host cannot be the murderer, but can certainly get involved & guess along with everyone else.

Q: Would this be suitable for a 10 year old’s birthday?

We used this for my daughter’s 13th birthday and it was really good but I would recommend reading all of it yourself first and seeing how to pave it. We did read it but not in so much detail and it was over a little too quickly.

Q: Is the content suitable for an 8 year old. It's mainly adults playing but there will be a child too. Is the subject matters suitable?

Yes, this particular game will be fine as there are no sexual references or anything else that might be unsuitable. You might like to pair the 8-year old up with an adult - dressing the same and sharing the dialogue for one character - that way, there's no pressure on the child to read out the right thing (especially if it turns out they're the murderer!)
