Does the potato setting work for jacket potatos too?

Apparently it does. It says in the instructions: Choose medium sized potatoes, wash and dry and prick with a fork several times. Arrange around edge of turntable . Press auto sensor cook Potatoes pad once. Press start. Wrap in foil and leave to stand for 5 mins after cooking. I have not tried it so cacn't tell you how well it works. I've used other auto sensor pads successfully.

Can you steam vegetables in this microwave?

Essentially, microwaves cook by producing electromagnetic waves that force polarized water molecules within food to oscillate. We experience this atomic-scale movement as increasing temperature. To couple readily with the waves, individual pieces should be at least a quarter of that length—so about 3 centimeters (a little larger than one inch). Does it beep a lot unnecessarily?

I hate appliances that beep frequently. You cannot mute this microwave, so if you require silence, look elsewhere. However, it doesn't beep *excessively*. At the end of a cooking cycle, it beeps five times. You cannot stop the five beeps, even by opening the door. However, after five beeps, there is silence, even if you don't open the door right away. For certain cooking programs, it also beeps (twice, I think) near the end when it wants you to stir. However, if you ignore it, it won't beep again until the cooking time is complete. Final verdict: not excessive beeping. Still more than I would like, but acceptable. Final note to appliance designers: beeps should be reserved for problems, like life threatening situations (smoke detectors), or accidental energy wasters (open doors on refrigerators). If your appliance is operating normally, please let it be quiet. When we are in our homes, we want to live in peace.
