Home guitarists, you NEED, this amp! Tell your wife I said so.
I've got a Marshall DSL40 plus a number of other stage-level amps. So, too powerful for home use without compromising sound quality. Like many folks, I wanted a valve amp that sounds like it should for at-home use, without annoying the wife or the neighbours. This does the job as well as, if not better than, expected. It looks like a Marshall, is reassuringly heavy, and most importantly it sounds like a Marshall. I really like the 10% power feature which reduces the output from 1 watt to .1 watt. Up to about noon on the classic gain with a single coil guitar you get crystal clear bell-like clean. At full volume, still at 10% power, it's classic marshall crunch. Of course with a humbucker, the breakup is earlier and more pronounced. On the full 1 watt (!) it's pretty loud and easily good enough for a small solo gig or perhaps a not too loud combo where you don't need to fight with the drummer. The ultra gain is pretty savage. At the barest gain setting you're into classic rock tones, or lower volume crunch, but after that it's hard rock, perhaps even metal territory. And that channel is loud! The amp has an effects loop, useful and not common on smaller valve amps. I wouldn't call the amp a pedal platform though. Dirt pedals don't sound so good, but you don't need them anyway, the amp takes care of it. I've seen others criticise the reverb. Ok, it's not a classic spring, but to my ears is perfectly acceptable up to about noon. Beyond that it's a bit unnatural sounding but I don't like excessive 'verb anyway. So I really can't fault it. I do have other excellent low wattage valve amps but I suspect this will be my favourite.

Its smaller but still a Marshall.
Wow!!!!. I have been playing guitar for erm well more than 40 years I won't say exactly how long. I only play at home nowadays and have tried so many practice amps. But this one... I plugged in and dialled everything to 50%, plugged in and immediately got that fabulous valve sound. You can spend a fortune on pedals getting close to this but why bother when this amp delivers straight out of the box. Other reviews have stated the reverb to be weak but to me it is OK. Its a reverb not an echo. The clean channel is still not as clean as a Vox or Fender but to me it's still clean enough. 1 Watt but can still rattle the windows. Excellent practice amp well built and excellent value. The "father of loud" may be gone ( and sorely missed by all) but his company is still making great amps.

Great bedroom volume tube gain
Great little practice amp, very heavy due to the valve tech inside. Have found it great for getting high gain tones, especially paired with a tube screamer pedal (it also has an effects loop which is wild on an amp at this price point). Fantastic amp, nothing bad to say about it.

Great amp for at home
Sounds great for such a tiny amp loud too I mainly use it on the low setting the 1 watt setting is too loud for my flat so is the low setting on full volume if I honest sounds better through a 12 inch 16 homme cabinet but that's to be expected

Isn’t reliable
I really liked this and pet first and even brought the limited edition, but overtime is proving to be nothing but unreliable in the three years I’ve had the amp I’ve had to change the valves four times, and after getting the amp serviced they found out there were serious circuitry problems with capacitors needing to be changed, The day I took the amp home The selector button for channels one and two start out that should’ve been my first indication that this amp wasn’t put together with care and attention to detail
