Sondergut Roll-Up Suede Backgammon Game (Color-Mocha)

I received my Sondergut travel backgammon game this morning and upon opening it, I know that this well-designed, well-crafted set will last for many years of play! I have inspected it thoroughly and noticed that the stitching looks great everywhere and am not concerned that it will not hold up during many years of gameplay.It is a beautiful set that rolls up nicely, yet lays out flat. It is a small board for ease of tucking away in bag or suitcase, yet it isn’t too small to play comfortably. My only concern about the game is the size of the die that are included - they are lightweight. I exchanged the dice from and old set that are somewhat larger/heavier and still fit nicely in the storage compartment.I love this set!!

So very convenient for travel. I tuck it in my handbag so it’s handy for airport delays, any long waits. Very well made.

Bought for my husband as a gift. We can take it on the airplane and it is exceptional for travel! Good quality and seems to be holding up well!

I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of this board. The suede feels great and the leather points look fantastic. The checkers are a bit smaller than I expected, but it isn't a problem at all. The board couldn't be this size with larger checkers and I think the size is perfect as is. It seems to be built well. The zipper feels sturdy and the snaps don't seem to be weak either. Other reviews showed pictures of the snaps popping off after some use, so if mine eventually does that as well, I'll update my review accordingly. As it is now though, I am very pleased with this backgammon board, so much that I will also be ordering their chess/checker version.Update Feb 2018: Been using this for a year now and it is still in good condition. No issues with the snaps and the zipper is still holding up well.

Very pleased with the quality of this product! The price seemed high for what it is, but with no other comparable option and other very high reviews, I gave it a try. So happy that I did! The suede gives it a certain "heft" and keeps it flat for play, but it's truly lightweight and so small for packing. We will use this on flights, in airports and for all travel. Very impressive and well worth the price for the convenience and ease of use. Highly recommend.

If you're a backgammon fan, you will be delighted with this unusual game set-up. Being accustomed to a hard board and dice cups, you might expect a leather roll-up set to be clumsy or cheap or unsatisfying. To the contrary, it is an excellent choice, not only for travel or convenience, but also for general play. Yes, it is compact and easy to story and carry, but it is also very well designed and constructed, firm in place, and engaging to use. It's my regular set now.

light and easy to carry. Extremly well made. Have used it on a sail boat in a bar and a park. We are very happy.
