So much so that it is nearly inedible, even for a spice lover like me! However, the actual dried fish pieces were delicious. I used them in cooking and they turned out great! That is the sole reason I am willing to purchase this product again. Review: A bit too funky - If you are new to the world of Burmese fish sambal, I would highly suggest you avoid this product and start with shrimp balachaung which is spicy, salty, and sweet. Dried Lotus fish is also fermented so itβs like over ripe blue cheese fish. But the dried fish here was really beyond funky.

Crushed red chili almost inedible but fish pieces are of good quality
The crushed red chili the fish pieces are immersed in is very, very spicy! So much so that it is nearly inedible, even for a spice lover like me! However, the actual dried fish pieces were delicious. I used them in cooking and they turned out great! That is the sole reason I am willing to purchase this product again.
