Makes my OlllllO's HVAC blow twice as good & keeps the rain out!!!
Air scoop is very functional in keeping out the rain and increasing the HVAC air-flow. It is made out of thin plastic, so you have to be careful with it, but feels like it would survive if you accidently dropped it or maybe it blew off your Jeep at a low speed. As far as installation, the air scoop did not sit flat on my 1998 Jeep Wrangler TJ's fresh air intake without modifications. Here is what I did: Cleaned the mounting area around air vent with acetone or rubbing alcohol. I used acetone. Taking a heat gun on low setting (250°~350°), I heated the 4 corners of the scoop, pushing down on it when heating in mounting position in the hood. (To find the right spot, position the scoop above the vent, then open hood all the way to the windshield to where the scoop is just barely not touching, otherwise the wipers will get in the way and rub. Turn on the wipers to make sure they are not touching the scoop when operating. Mark this position with piece's of tape or something.) Remove the red plastic protecting the tape on the bottom of the scoop and reposition where you have it marked, applying pressure for 30 seconds on and around the scoop edges. Hope this helps! 5 stars!!!

Keeps Debris Out
This has been on over a month now and it’s kept debris out of my cowl. I mounted mine with the opening facing the windshield and it’s held up just fine. The provided adhesive isn’t the greatest, which is why I’m giving it a 4 star. I had to use actual 3M tape to get it to actually attach

Great addition
I have two big trees that drop a lot of small leaves. The leaves were getting down into the cowl and into the blower housing. This cowl scoop has eliminated that issue. Also helps keep some water and mud from getting in the cowl as well. Plus I thought it looked cool once installed. I haven't had any issue with it coming loose yet. Price was good, easy to install and solved an issue. well worth it.

Cheap Chinese Product
Looks ok on my JK, but its very cheap plastic. Tape does not hold, so replaced with some industrial tape

Decent quality for the price
Looks good, and seems to be made very well. I have had it on all summer, and it does seem to "push" more air through when the fan is on low to medium speed. I know that it isn't supposed to help push in air, but in the past I could feel more air when running the fan on low to about middle position. Now I feel at least the same airflow on low as I do on medium position while moving. When stopped, the low fan position is definitely lower than while moving. But of course I bought this for looks, not for anything else, and it does look good. I'm curious to see how it works in the snowy winter, and will update if anything negative happens.

Does NOT fit a 1997 Jeep Wrangler
Item description states “Fits for 1997 Jeep” but the sides do not align with sheet metal, i.e., only open vent spaces. Five others “verified purchasers” stated that it did not fit ’97. You need to revise item description! The pre-attached double-sided tape is recessed below the edges and does not make surface contact; see photo. I intended on returning but instead added Gorilla tape and rivets.

Fits perfectly 2012 jeep jk
Someone wrote in previous review it only fits 1 way. This isn’t true. It defeats the purpose of it facing open side out unless it has a screen it fits just fine the other way also. The only thing you do have to do is put thicker 3M tape on the tape it comes with is garbage and wipe down area around grate with rubbing alcohol. My jeep has multiple coats of ceramic coat it will not stay stuck to the surface otherwise.
