Had a wooden seat before, but not as good a quality as this one. Fits well and very sturdy. Would recommend. However fitting it took a bit of time, but got there in the end.

Well finally it's there and ready to use..... Looks lovely, very heavy and seems good quality. The soft close function works nicely at the last minute, a couple of inches before it would otherwise have come crashing down - on mine anyway! This could well be due to some installation error on my part because it was a nightmare, despite following the instructions and watching the video (which made it look simple - it's not). In the end I managed to get the seat looking straight and more or less where I wanted it, although the chrome bar at the base does not look straight. I will have to live with that though as it is now stuck fast and immovable. So I'm very happy with it, but wish someone else had installed it for me!

I installed this in Feb 2023 so I am best placed to review the product.Firstly, the seat is comfy, the issue with top fixing seats is that it's hard to find a nice comfortable seat. The best bottom fix seat is the Bemis New York, but sadly it's bottom only. I have tried a few seats and they are either plastic rubbish or cut your legs so you end up with marks after sitting for 5 minutes. In terms of install it's relatively simple, however strangely uses an Allen key to tighten as opposed to a simple cross head. It's quite frustrating to get the seat settled in the correct position but you can get a reasonable fit depending on your seat size. The issue is after it's installed as I found it loosened after a week and needed tightening, normally on bottom fix they have a special design so they never come loose, top fittings do not have this and as such you are at the will of the cheap plastic used in the fittings. The simple issue with this seat is as follows, after roughly 3 months the metal started to form rust and no matter how much cleaning it kept coming back to the point after a year then back fitting were covered in rust. In addition the seat lost its sheen and looked full in colours, the wood colour fades a little and my toilet is ground floor and east facing so has little bright light.Last issue is the soft close stopped working after 6 months, as much as I have warranty I'm not going to send a toilet seat off as I kind of need it!I ended up replacing the seat with the B&Q NOLI seat. Which although reviews are poor on their seat, but it's a much better seat and well worth getting as an alternative to this one

After purchasing this Croydex toilet seat I had no problems use for several months when the soft close mechanism stopped working. I contacted Croydex, and even though the issue couldn’t be repaired they quickly offered a replacement.I appreciate the company standing by their product and Tracey in sales giving such an excellent customer service experience.The seat itself is good quality the Flexi-Fix, made it a breeze to install. I love the Quick Release for cleaning. Value for money.

Nice looking and easy to fit but the soft close mechanism stopped working after about 6 months. Just bangs shut now.

Really great product, the only issue I had, was when installing, you need to be strong when aligning the hinge, however when I added a bit of brute force! (I am a girl!) all went perfectly.

I was worried the seat would look plasticky but it doesn’t, the seat itself is excellent quality, heavy and looks very classy it was however a right pain to line up and install took ages but finally got it in the right position and secured. Very pleased as I had boxing around toilet which prevent me from getting in underneath with out removing it, so really chuffed you could fit it from the top only, been on for a few weeks and seems sturdy and secure

The seat uses great looking wood and appears to be good quality - BUT there is a major design flaw - the quick release mechanism locks the seat in place with flimsy internal plastic "grips" - these have broken on my first seat, and on replacing with a new seat it has happened again - results in the seat no longer being locked in place and rocks badly - a real safety hazard.Such a shame that a great looking seat is let down by poor design/use of cheap material - if the "grips" were made of metal or thicker plastic, then it would be a winner!Look at other website reviews for similar comments
