Fixes water hammer in house plumbing.
After years of water hammer, this fixed it; no more banging pipes.

Works great, easy install
Used this for my sprinkler system. I first tried a tiny version (size AA) from Home Depot, which worked a little bit, but this larger version (size B) from Sioux Chief was what I needed to fix my water hammer problem. Installed in about 10 minutes. I added a female 3/4" threaded fitting to my existing PVC system and then screwed the Arrester into the threaded PVC fitting using teflon tape.

Works very well
Installed it on my washing machine hot and cold and on my dishwasher. I now forget sometimes I am washing as I got so use to the pipe sounds to tell me the washer is done. Banging of the water pipes is completely gone. Strong build , it seems durable as there was no metal flaking or compression while tightening it to the dishwasher line or washing machine line. Had no leaking.

Hammer Arrestor
I had a the banging of the pipes every time my irrigation system would turn on or off. I had serveral plumbers come by with no resolution. So you Plumbers, take heed and have these in your arsenal for knock repair. It works if you place it near the offending device. In my case I easily installed it on the irrigation valve myself and the banging went away. I did have to purchase a PVC cutting tool from my local box store along with a piece of PVC and sealant. But once done, I resolved a problem I had since I purchased the house 4 years ago. Only problem, I have to replace annually it appears due to hard water in desert. But it easy to install now that I have it set up and it’s not expensive..

Amazing product, no more water hammer
just installed lawn sprinkler system. All is well but the water hammer at each and every zone shutoff time driving me crazy. no matter how to secure pipes, etc no help. found this one, 3/4in with 3/4 in pex tee and installed at the position right after the water valve in the basement where goes to the sprinkler system outside underground. amazing thing happened, no nosie, no more water hammer noise any more. wow, great. so anyone want to get rid of the annoying and dangerous water hammer, do it and you will be so relieved by the result.

No More Water Hammer
I first purchased and installed the recommended AA size for my washing machine. On first use, the water pressure forced the pistons to the top of their travel and therefore had no effect on the water hammer. These larger unites did the trick! All good now. A bit of a hassle getting the proper fittings, but that’s to be expected. I’m including a photo of the finished installation. Only two recommendations. Use plenty of teflon pipe thread tape on the pipe threads, and minimize the use of garden hose thread fittings, as they tend to loosen easily. Good Luck!

Hammering has STOPPED on Washer On & Off
Hammering has STOPPED on Washer On & Off I’ve always had a loud bang when the Washer is running. As you can see from the picture, my house is older so the connections are in the basement and somewhat rudimentary. Smaller Hammer Arresters did not stop the hammering on my washer so I tried these larger ones. I hooked it up slightly different than another buyer, in that I bought a 3/4” garden hose threaded tee (2 female, 1 male): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D21SJJ6J?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 and thus only needed one adapter for each cold & hot water lines: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BWSY2ZM7?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 The arrester appears to have pipe threads but did seem to fit directly in the garden hose threaded tee without the garden hose to pipe thread adapter, but I tested it and it sprayed water, so the arrester definitely has pipe threads and requires the adapter. Once connected and running, there is still some faint knocking while the water is running (probably a different issue) but the loud thud/bang when the water shuts off is now non-existent. I would unquestionably buy these again if needed.
