Easy Install and Effective!
Install was a breeze on our Yamaha. Sanded, prepped and it has stuck solid for years. We beach about every trip in rocky Utah reservoirs due to the cold water, kids and other passengers, preferring not to anchor out. Writing this review after ~5 years of use because we finally hit some really bad rocks and this did its job. Had we not had this, 100% sure we have a hole in our boat. We were able to patch/seal the damaged section with marine 5200 and still kicking. We’ll see how much more use we can get, but will definitely purchase again when the time comes. Life saver.

Great Product
This works wonders I installed this on a 14ft Jenson boat which I had fabricated to be stick steering because of my back injury I have to sit on the front of the boat and swing my legs over into the boat and do the exact same thing to get out this Keelguard really helped tremendously because without it I was wearing a hole in the bottom of my boat which would make for more problems instead of using alcohol to clean the keel I used brake cleaner and it got it VERY CLEAN and the glue stuck perfectly so just follow the instructions or look up a YOUTUBE vide on the subject and use whatever is safe for your boat I used the brake cleaner because my boat doesn't have a gel coating just fiberglass so before I would use the cleaner I would probably test it on an non visible area before installation to see if it damages your paint

Easy application, works perfect, you can do this at home in 15 minutes....
I just bought a 18' Nitro Z7. The boat didn't come with a keel protector and I could notice the wear on the keel. I read a ton of reviews and watched a youtube about this product and decided to give it a try and put it on myself. I purchased the 6 foot bc I felt the 7 foot would be overkill. If you have a 18 foot boat, 6 foot is all that you need. I opened the pack, read the instructions and put it on myself in my garage. I live in Louisiana where it's 100 degrees outside right now and let the shield sit in the sun for 15 minutes to be easier to work with. It literally took my 15 minutes to put this on by myself and it works perfect. The instructions tell you to draw an outline of the shield and/or mask off the area you are working with. I didn't go through all of that bc I'm impatient and it really was a waste of time IMO. If you're a perfectionist, go for it. Just takes more time. As far as the application, I just marked the middle (7th) rise with a white crayon so I could use it as a guide going down the keel for a centerline. I layed flat on my back under the boat with the keel of the boat centered above me where I was applying. I placed the shield down the center of my body, placed it where I wanted it to start at the top and worked it all the way down like the instructions said. Very easy. I'm just your average Joe who has never done this before and it couldn't have been easier. I'm happy with it so far, let's hope it stays on!

Keel shield
Very good product but a little hard to apply. You need 2 people to do this ,but when done correctly its there for good.

Putting it to the test
Sept. 5. 2025 ----Came with simple to understand intructions; worth it's value to protect your investment; very sticky; seems durabile for shallow waters; followed more intructions from YouT--be; added addtional clear marine silicone along the edges; stuck painters tape 1/8 " into the gator and an 1/8" into the boat, then I added the silicone; used marine abrasive into the opening bend, then held it with wood to stick on (worked great); overall the project seems succesful. I'LL UPDATE MY REVIEW once I try it at high speeds in the water; but I don't plan the run it into the sand or shells on purpose........10/06/2025, ater three trips to the coast and driving my boat at high speeds and choppy water, it has remained in place; I am completely satisfied with the product; I'm going to recommend it to friends and other boaters......

Product separated
Used this on my jet ski....all smooth surfaces and installed exactly as instructed. The product held on great for two trips. However, I loaded up last week and noticed something hanging down. The guard had separated about two feet down from the front and peeled a strip section about 1" wide and 18" long right out of the middle of the guard. HTH does that happen? Now I get to lay under it with a heat gun to remove the rest of it. $120 wasted.

Keeps your keel from getting damaged
Liked how easy this is to apply. 3M on it really holds it in place. As the instructions state, preparation is the key to a successful seal. It will take about twice as long to prep the hull as it will to apply then seal the edges. But it will be worth it. Just take your time. Do not try to cut corners. After you have it on, use masking tape before applying the 5200 sealer around the edges. Once the tape is removed, you will have straight edges on your silicone. I have installed this brand keel guard on every boat I have owned. Helps on resell also.

Facile à installer si on prend son temps et on suit les instructions. J'ai réparé ma chaloupe en aluminium. Très bon produit.

Installed easily on my 10 foot tender. No issues. It's a little pricy so we'll have to wait and see how it stands up. Came with excellent instructions.

Es muy buena calidad. El líquido activador del pegamento es poco prectico y poca cantidad.

Good product, looks like it will last the lifetime of the boat when it is done correctly. I installed this on my 2013 Nitro Z7 and I would have order 1 extra foot longer if I was able to do it all over again. Does the job though.
