Not for beginners
A lot of money for beginners, there are easier better value for money books on this subject. Useful if you are mixing up the solution yourself so really only for an artist who is going to be carrying out this process in large quantities

Rather pricy and cheaply printed but fabulous content

Fantastic book with poor print quality
The content is excellent but the printing quality is poor. In fact I have never seen such basic print errors in a publication. I have shared a photo where the subheadings are misprinted.

POOR
Massively overpriced. Lots of lists - of paper types, of alternative cyanotype mixes of artists - but overall very poorly explained. The material is perhaps obvious to the expert but the expert will not want these guidelines anyway. The material on preparing test strips I read repeatedly but still don't get how to do it. Likewise the notes on using Photoshop not clearly explained. Many other sections the same. Not suitable for a novice at all. I get annoyed at this. Why cannot authors proof their works with novices and check that information is clear? What is the value of reviewing 180 different types of paper when the basics of cyanotyping are not clearly explained? It just is so important to write clearly. I get a feeling that this was someones research project, on types of paper for cyanotype, turned into a book Much more informative and clearly-explained discussions online. A very poor book if it has the intention to teach others.

This book is the definitive guide to the craft and art of cyanotypes. It is a wealth of information, clearly structured, and is accompanied by excellent visual aids. The author has gone above and beyond to provide the reader with detailed knowledge on various sub-topics: the paper guide, toning recipes and showcase of artists have been particularly useful and inspiring. If you want to explore what cyanotype is capable of, this is the book to get.

Great handbook, lots of practical advice on everything for both experienced and beginner cyanotypograhers. Great to have a collection of artist images to draw inspiration from.
