Walker’s Rich Fruit Pudding - 14.1 Oz Plum Pudding for Christmas - Luxury Holiday Treat and Dessert from Scotland

Our family Xmas recipes were mainly from England so plum pudding was always included. I just didn't have time to steam one as I used to this year so bought this instead. It's small compared to the huge pudding I've always made but the taste is excellent and I'm glad I bought it. I'm not much for adding brandy, rum, etc. to either the pudding or to the sauce as so many are so I'll whip up a batch of Creme Anglaise for this beauty and serve it that way. The ingredients are high quality & it's made beautifully. I may have to order another one at this rate. Anyway, as a long time Xmas steamed pudding maker, I can vouch for the good texture and flavor of this pudding and would recommend it. Now....time to make that rich sauce and have a slice. :)

This pudding is as close to a great home-made one I have ever had. It is a rich dense, bomb of flavour packed with good fruit, butter, and spices. We have always enjoyed one with brandy butter aftr a traditional Christmas Dinner. However, I realised they are much too good to only eat once a year, so have pruchased a couple more. Highly recommend them. They are wonderful with hot custard too.

This pudding is so delicious! We made a note on our calender to buy more this fall as Christmas approaches. It is our new special holiday dessert

Tasty, but the amount of pudding is very small for the price - even with the larger size, it only fed four mouths and was gone in an instant. It was a nice treat, but too expensive to try again.

This is some totally amazing stuff. Now as an American, I am woefully unaware of fruit or plum pudding. My family descends from Danish and Irish stock and we pretty much have only offered cookies and pies for Christmas desserts. My husbands mother's family comes from Scotland, the MacKinnon clan actually :) and when with his family for Christmas a few years ago we were treated to a tiny serving of authentic plum pudding. I enjoyed the taste so much I've been craving it since but in the central Midwest US - folks here have only heard of fruit/plum/Christmas pudding in old Charles Dickens stories. There is NO chance of finding it in stores and I don't have the time or the courage to make it. I had plans to warm this stuff up proper in a double boiler and make hard sauce - all of it BUT with a house full of family there was no time for this. I simply followed the directions, poked a couple of holes in the container and popped it in the microwave for 3 minutes. Let it cool 1 min then turned it over onto a plate and voila! Perfect! Vanilla ice cream substituted for the hard sauce and was SO lovely and DELICIOUS as it melted. Taste is very rich, heavy on the raisin and clove. My husband disdains all desserts but this he will eat and said it was as good as his mom's home made. Now THAT is an enormous compliment.

I bought this for our own Xmas dinner dessert. Have not eaten it yet. I usually buy another manufactured plum pudding that I think is out of business as I can not find it online anywhere. So I selected Walkers. Have never tasted it but they make excellent shortbread. So I expect a good plum pudding. My grandmother use to make it from scratch and bag it up, hanging it to age in her cellar. She is long gone and I never learned from her as how to make it, which I regret. BUT! The box this came in had a totally torn off side piece. It looked like it had been kicked across the floor in the shipping room. So this one is most definitely NOT giftible. If I was giving it as a gift, I would have had to take it out of the box, find a hard sauce or brandy butter and make up a gift basket presentation. Would not order from this seller again.

I grew up making plum pudding, but now in a two person elderly household, store bought is the way I go. This pudding did not disappoint and brought back great memories. I would recommend.

We used to have this every Christmas when we lived in the UK, and I've been buying it since we moved back to the US. This is the first time that it was a big letdown. I'm unsure if the recipe has changed, but the pudding didn't taste the same as in previous years.

イメージしていたより小ぶりでしたがドライフルーツたっぷりで私は気に入りました。 甘すぎるという声も聞きましたが１回に食べる量を加減すれば大丈夫、生クリームはお好みでどうぞ。 食べ方の説明書にもありますが必ず温めてから食べてくださいね。
