Great Affect
Awesome sound I can set it and use the setting all the time, My two favorite chorus and delay all in one unit. I have a Boss ME-25 that doesn’t sound nearly as good as this pedal.

If you want analog delay, this thing is worth every penny. I use it with synths and it's glorious.
If you want analog delay, this thing is worth every penny. I had previously purchased a Behringer VM-1. It did a good job and honestly on an extreme budget, it has its place. For me I wanted it to test out a real analog delay to see if I might like it without breaking the bank.Analog delay itself, coming from largely using software delays, is beautiful! It just sounds a lot more organic, I think partly because dialing the delay just right is tough and that just makes the small difference pleasing. But the analog sound - I haven't heard anything come close in software. There are probably some decent software implementations but if it's anything like digitally modelled tubes vs the real things, I don't think you can ever get 100% there. And that's why ultimately I wanted to try a real analog delay pedal. The VM-1 was an experiment, the Memory Man was an investment. The difference is in clarity. The Memory Man isn't nearly as dark and that makes it more versatile. If I want a dark sound, I can do that via EQ on the effect chain. It lets me throw delay on anything I want basically and can dial it in from subtle to IN YO FACE delay.I honestly end up using both pedals since, if I want a dark sound, it's faster to use the VM-1 than muck about with EQ (as I don't have an analog EQ channel strip or anything yet so have to do that in post in my DAW). That's because I'm lazy and really, I think, accentuates how good the Memory Man is at delay. If I wanted a crazy delay, say, a higher pitched kind of thin synth lead, the VM-1 just wouldn't work. Memory Man has no problem with it.I keep comparing the two because those are really my only bases for comparison when trying to compare to analog delays. Honestly compared to digital, it's no contest. Memory Man wins for many of my applications. Granted, not all. Sometimes I want a delay that captures the entire signal. But when I want something more organic with a beautiful taper, Memory Man is where it's at.In my setup I use it mostly on synths via a patch bay. I haven't used it with an electric guitar directly yet. The synths I've used it with are Virus Classic, Prophet '08, Midibox SID, and TX81z. Works well with all of them.I know I'm rambling by now, so all that said, thing is - I didn't originally want to pay as much as I did for just a delay pedal. But I'm glad I did. I've had more fun, it sounds great, and was easily worth every penny for me.

Integral Piece of My Pedal Setup -- Tasteful & Thorough Tone
The Memory Man Delux is a thoroughly responsive pedal allowing for a broad range of sonic potential rare amongst effects pedals. Its output is clean, noise free so it performs excellent in the studio by adding to any track uniqueness unmatched without the headache when mixing and mastering. This has been a quickly implemented key to my musical tone. It was really enjoyable to learn and become familair with its ranges -- making performances thorough, dynamic and interesting on the ear. 5 stars indeed -- no question. Go ahead and pick up the Memory Man as a delay of tasteful purportions and have it provide sonically diverse tone to your musical tool box. Enjoy all!

Excellent, classic analog delay
The Deluxe Memory Man is the pedal that was made famous by The Edge's sound in U2 as well as countless other musicians who have relied on this analog delay. Analog delay pedals are preferred over digital delays for their "warm" sound, actually caused in part by the deterioration of the high-end frequencies of the signal as the repeats continue. This slight change over time in the delay sounds more natural to the ear than the "carbon copy" repeats of digital delays, which sound exactly the same each repeat. Each analog delay pedal sounds slightly different, and many people prefer the sound of the DMM. This is supposedly due to a certain classic chip that is used in this pedal. I have compared this to a MXR Carbon Copy, which is about half the price and a much smaller footprint. I liked the Carbon Copy, but I like the DMM much better. Another good feature it has is the modulation. You can set it to vibrato or chorus, and you can determine the amount of modulation. The modulation sounds pretty good, and it only affects the repeats. The main downside is it needs its own power supply, and it has a very large footprint. The fact that it remains so popular despite these two major negatives (and its price) tells you what a good pedal it is. However, you may wish to wait for the upcoming "XO" Deluxe Memory Man, which is coming out quite soon and should be the same pedal in a smaller package.

This pedal is amazing!
This pedal is awesome. I was torn between this and the Deluxe Memory Boy. After some research, and many of nights of sleeping on the purchase, I finally pulled the trigger on the DMM. I don't regret it one bit. Sure the Memory Boy has tap tempo, but the repeats are too dark for my taste. The DMM has been used by so many musicians for a reason. Top notch pedal and top notch quality. Best analog delay.

So sweet
A true wonder of analog delight. I can't compare it to a vintage one, but I think this thing sounds great. I play a Sheritone II through a Twin, so I'm listening to this thing about as clean as you can get. I also have a TC Electronic Flashback. The Flashback blows this out of the water for features, but the sound quality and character are untouched. The memory man is a beast.

Great Delay
I got a MXR Carbon Copy before this and I really liked that. But then this went on sale and I thought...yeah ok. I'm glad I did. I really like this delay so much better. The carbon copy is good, but the memory man is great.
