Red Label Abrasives 1 X 30 Inch 400 Grit Sanding Belts - Industrial Grade Silicon Carbide - 12 PACK - For Knife Sharpening and Metalworking - Sander Belts - desertcart.com Review: I love these belts and doing business with Red Label Abrasives! - I bought some of just about every kind of knife sharpening belts offered on desertcart because I wanted to make comparisons. I am tired of buying belts that I consider sub-par. As soon as I opened the package from Red Label Abrasives, I could tell these were quality belts! They all had a good weight to them and were backed with a firm backing - even the 1000 grit! And speaking of grit, these feel coated very well and seem to hold up, even after hours of sharpening. By some unfortunate happenstance, my order was missing a couple of items. I notified desertcart and they apparently notified the vendor right away because he was already getting back to ME even before I expected desertcart to notify HIM - especially with the Thanksgiving week taking place. I am so used to getting screwed for missing or ineffective online merchandise that I was just blown away when he got to me so fast - or at all! This is the big thing that lends itself to whether a company is a good, reputable business or not and that is "Service after the sale." This company not only said that I would soon be receiving the merchandise that was missing but, in addition, they would replace the entire order again INCLUDING some grits that I did not even order!! It was like an early Christmas present just to have a vendor get back to me at all! But to have one go so far above and beyond what they had to just about stupefied me. They are being so gracious about the problem that I actually feel blessed to have had the problem just to find out what great people they are to deal with. I was so glad to find that out because I liked the belts so much that I would have been sick to find out it was a buyer-beware situation in the long run. Thing is, I honestly feel that if you are not buying ANY belts this vendor has to offer, you are either paying too much, considering the quality, and/or you are suffering sub-par merchandise. These belts practically center themselves on both my Harbor Freight and my Able-to-tech sharpening system! (Which basically uses the same belt sharpener with improvements built-in for sharpening.) I am a retired CPA and I dealt with hundreds of different businesses over 40 years. I not only would recommend these belts to my friends but I would deride them as being foolish if they went to anyone else!!! You can't possibly be making a bad buying decision when the company the company you are dealing with bends over backwards to ensure your satisfaction. If you are buying new belts for your belt sharpener - you need look no further. Review: so far good - sharpened at least 30 kitchen and filet knives using a 1x30 belt sander and the assortment kit. belts performed as expected with zero issues, they tracked straight with no fraying and worked the edge to very little bur. first time using a belt sander for knives and they work for me.

I love these belts and doing business with Red Label Abrasives!

They are quality but "BEWARE"
Ive been using these on the harbor freight 1x30 sander for long grinding sessions of multiple blades at a time. The speed of that sander contributes to over heating despite keeping the blade in ice water between passes. Silicon carbide polishes well and seems to last a bit but yeah be super careful because the finer grits definitely want to scorch the metal before you finish a pass especially on longer blades(5 inch plus). These particular belts feel like quality and ive used some of there 36 zirconium belts for heavy sanding and was impressed with the longevity and stock removal.

Fit my 1" x 30" sander perfectly. Should fit other look-alike sanders as well.
These sanding belts are well made with smooth butt seams that don't "thump". I bought the Ultra Fine Assortment of 12 belts for use in knife sharpening and I'm able to achieve very good results. So far, they seem to be holding up well but because the pricing is reasonable I can have several spares in each grit. The Ultra Fine Assortment includes 3 each of 400, 600, 800 and 1000 grit belts. Recommended.

very poor quality belts, especially at a premium price, I expected these belts would last. just like the other poor reviews for these belts, they loose their bit so fast. they cut really well for 2 minutes and after that it basically just heating up your piece and causing super slow progress.
