Shimano 105 RD-R7000 Rear Derailleur – 11-Speed, Shadow RD, Direct Mount Compatible, Black – SS Short Cage or GS Medium Cage

Great upgrade from the 105 short cage that came on my bike. Much better with the 32 tooth cassette I’m currently using. Plan on going to a 11-34 next, which this derailleur can handle. FYI - Short cage derailleurs do not work on cassettes over 30 teeth.this one Shifts great!!

I love that these new 105 and Ultegra derailleurs work with the Shimano mtb 11-40 cassette that I run on my 2 road bikes. The b-screw isn't even all the way in and no WolfTooth link is needed. Combined with a 50/34 crankset, the lowest gear now allows me to maintain a higher cadence when climbing, which helps with both power output and fatigue. It's far easier to put out 200+ watts on a long climb when you can do it at a cadence of 80 rather than 64, as I would be on a 32t cassette.

My five year old Bianchi Intenso with at least 7,000 miles on it began to shift sloppily despite a new shift cable, new chain, new chainrings, and a new cassette. I replaced my old Shimano 105 rear derailleur with this one and the bike again shifts like new. Note that the shift cable is routed differently on this newer model than the Shimano 105 rear derailleurs from five years ago. The cable now terminates between the wheel and derailleur instead of on the outward facing side of the derailleur. You have to trim the cable rather short to keep it from getting caught in the spokes. Also, the pinch bolt is a bit harder to reach, but overall I like the design better than the old model.

The seller shipped my order on the same day. To much surprise I recieved my item in its original packaging and otherShimano inner cable housing. I initially bought this model derailleur from Ebay which I returned because it was counterfeit. Contrarily this item shifts smoothly as raved about by Shimano patrons which attests to its authenticity. I highly recommend this seller and I I will purchase other bike items based on my experience.
