Comfortable running shoes
These are better than I expected. I hesitated purchasing these, because I do pronate slightly. In the past I used stability type shoes, Asics GT 1000 or 2000 worked really well for me when I ran. I remember trying on Excite running shoes years ago and they felt terrible. I have not run in these Excites yet, but have been wearing them every day, a good month I'd say so far. I like the foot bed in these because there is no crazy arch support, the foot bed seems pretty flat and its cushioned enough. I usually always take 11 in a running shoes. These seem a bit longer. I have a good thumbnail length from the end of my big toe to the end the shoe, maybe a bit more. Most Asics in an 11 give me just the right amount of space there, these seem somewhat longer in length, though the shoes work fine for me. I thought of trying a 10 1/2 but hesitated sending these back for that, as I never take that size. I feel a bit more space is better than my toes rubbing in the front of the shoes. As an all around everyday shoe I would recommend these, for running I can not say.Update on my 2nd pair of these:Ok, so the first pair of these as reviewed above were great, I started wearing them again after having trouble with the 2nd pair I purchased. The first pair was reborn blue/white and the 2nd pair is black/ marigold orange. Both pairs are made in Vietnam. Both pairs are size 11 and medium width. They feel like two different shoes. The 2nd pair seems not as well cushioned and its somewhat not as wide in the forefoot. I do wear them but they are not really that comfortable, I play around with different insoles. I am not changing my rating on this shoe though. I am still wearing the first pair from time to time, it still feel good.I recently bought Asics GT 1000 11s in a size 11 extra wide. I would have preferred just wide which they don't seem to have in this model, but I gave it chance. I just received them and they actually fit pretty nice. My foot measures medium. I tried these on in a store in a medium size and I could hardly get my foot in the shoe. I think I will go with wide or extra wide in the future. I do know Asics can tend to be narrow but not always.

Great shoes
Was buying it for the everyday wear and took my exact size - 11.5. Shoes are made in Vietnam, so they fit perfectly (the shoes, which are made in China are always smaller than Vietnamese and Indonesian ones). My advise, if you're looking for Gel-Excite 8 for running, go with the half size up, but find out about the country of origin first.Overall, great looking shoes for the reasonable price and very comfortable.

Excellent cushioning and fit, Asics quality
Always love Asics comfort cushioning. The toe box is comfortable and unrestricted. I had vascular surgery on my right leg last year, I work in the motorcycle industry so I am on my feet all day so cushioning is critical and pretty much all of the Asics running shoes deliver exactly what I need for a fraction of price of the competitors. I know everyone has their favorites for their running shoe preferences, but these provide everything I need in a shoe thats lightweight, curved sole, excellent cushioning and construction and they look great with all my shop racewear!

Better than a lot of expensive sneakers
I started walking to loose weight, at 280lbs I needed a wide neutral sneaker with lots of cushioning. I started with the saucony Triumph. They were very comfortable but the bottom wore out in less that 70 miles (about a month). At $150 that was not acceptable. Next was the Brooks glycerin. They were not wide enough and caused blisters. I traded them for the brooks ghost, but again the bottom wore out pretty quick, I'd say about 80 miles or so. I then tried the New Balance 1080. I didnt like the padding on the soles of these, they felt hard, and once again the bottoms wore out quick.I saw these gel-exite 8 for a great price so I gave them a shot. THESE ARE EXCELLENT. I am about to replace them after 300 plus miles and the bottom lasted all those miles on concrete. At 1/3 the price of most of the sneakers i've tried these are awesome. The only issue I had was that I had some heal slippage and when I tried to use the runners knot the laces were way too short. I had to get longer laces but after that I had no other issues.I am about to buy 2 more to have an extra

Best shoes for the money.
I buy a pair of these every year. When I get new ones the pair before them become my outside work shoes, and the oldest pair get thrown away. The new ones are the ones I wear to doctors appointments and such.I love them because they are light and comfortable. They go on easy, which is good due to the fact that I am disabled. I had a severe back injury nearly 6 years ago. This left me with severe nerve damage in my legs and feet. These shoes also do good in wet conditions. I fall enough already, these keep me from slipping when it's raining. They also come in wide sizes, which is a plus.

Great for orthotics!
I bought these shoes to replace a similar pair that I wore out from hard, daily use. This style is perfect for orthotics because the insoles pull out and you can easily insert your custom orthotics. The foot pad is wide enough to cushion a severe bunion -- I can walk 6+ miles in these shoes without foot or leg cramps at the end of the day. The dark color shows little dirt. Sturdy, hard-working shoes worth the price!

Really comfortable
These shoes are quite comfortable, especially when you are like me and you wear steel-toe boots all day long, when you put these on it's like walking on a cloud. What I would say is to ignore people saying to buy a size up though because I usually wear size 10, I bought a size 10.5 and now I have about an inch of space at the front. Would definitely buy again, albeit my correct size.
