Terrible advice! Great for kindling!
The material is dated, to say the least (original publish in 2001). Even then it gives the very basics, to paraphrase:-"safe sex is boring but we still need to talk about it."-"ditch your fat friends they're holding you down"-and "we don't think you shouldn't be yourself but"It's not all terrible, but it's all quite elementary stuff, nothing useful or innovative and quite a bit is just morally disgusting. I'm going to look for something more nuanced, but hey! It makes for great kindle 🙂

Read but Beware
I saw Meryl Streep in Hope Springs and a book was read entitled Sex Tips for Straight Women from a gay guy. I googled and came across this book from the same author, so I bought it. It has outdated advice as it was printed in the early 2000's, but some solid advice also. I am 58 years old, and I believe this book is more appropraite for people in their teens, twenties, or just coming out. It is easy to read, and if you take it with a grain of salt, some valuable guides that even I found useful. Other guides, not so much given my age and experience in social issues.By the way, the cover has a guy with a banana used for practice. I have not seen any chapters which actually refer to that banana.

Don't, don't, don't take this advice...
... unless you're an addled headed twit from WeHo or Chelsea. And it's 1990. And even then it's bad advice. The free sample was great fun, reminding me of misspent days gone by. But then I bought it and it rapidly went downhill. On the other hand, if you take any of this seriously, you'll end up end up in therapy for relationship and sex issues which will probably be good in the long run and in rehab for your drinking and eventually AA which, I hear, is an excellent place to meet great guys.

Very good
I enjoyed this book very much, I travel a great deal and therefore am very appreciative to good authors and only give five stars to those I believe tell a good story, have a great ending and have me wanting more. I don't always need all the sex or blood and gore, sometimes a romance, a love story or a drama is what I need. I highly recommend this book. And have recommended it to our book club in New York and Aspen,..I also recommend reading.... The Boy He Loved - Obsession Into Darkness (Gay Suspense) , Reflections In The Looking Glass - A Murder Mystery That Will Surprise you (Gay Murder Mystery) , My Gay Socks (Gay Romance) and From Boys to Men (Gay Classic) , you may also want to read, The Crane & Pelican (Gay Romance) . Funny and informative.
This book explained so many things to me. I have not been adventurious and so this helped me to understand many parts of gay life I had not experienced.
