Fiskars 9863 Telescoping Multi-Weeder

Great tool, makes cleaning out weeds and grass between pavers and concrete walkways a breeze. The tool extends so you don't have to bend over very much while using it. I’ve tried all sorts of tools for weeding in between sidewalk separations and this one works best at least for me so far.

Great blade but weak locking handle. Had to purchase a hose clamp to keep it at set length

Could be a few inches longer if you’re a tall person

This thing is a perfect replacement for my lost "Deck Hand" of yester-yr which I used to exhume the crap that gets stuck between the boards of the deck. Bonus: this has sharp edges to cut through build-up that hasn't been tended to soon enough (like concrete pet fur/dirt combo).

the first day I bought this tool , I used it and I noticed I didn't have to bend on my knees ! I have bought tools where I have to sit on my knees and with this one I DIDN'T !! yes one has to to some muscle into it but it works !!

The longer handle sure saves the back.Cleans the weeds in the cracks effortlessly.Sturdy and well made.

We had four problems with this weeder:1. The telescoping handle collapses no matter how hard it is tightened. Very poor design that simply does not work.2. The blade does not cut the weeds! It runs alongside the weed rather than cutting it, no matter how sharply the blade is angled in either direction within the crevice. This was on very even crevices between two edges of concrete where the sidewalk meets the curb.3. In crevices where the asphalt road meets the concrete curb, the weeder chips at and tears up the asphalt edge--and still doesn't cut the weeds.4. When used as a skimmer (running the blade ahead of us like a push broom), the weeder edge is too narrow to do the job.No matter how we tried--changing the angle we held the blade, changing motions (pushing the weeder ahead of us, pulling it toward us, using a sawing motion back and forth), this weeder didn't work well. We ended up with stretches of lacerated weeds and a lot of frustration. We do not recommend this weeder at all.

I wish I read other reviews before buyingI was a Fiskars unconditional fan, not so after this toolthe handle does not stay locked in placethe cutting blade is poor no matter the angle or the effortI got some use out of it because I can't think of a substitute

It's ok, but not great. Fiskar products are usually excellent.

I wish it locked a little tighter, as you can pull it loose when you get in a tight spot. Otherwise a real time saver and you can avoid bending over.

First - the telescoping pole does not tighten and collapses when you use it. I tried it also kneeling down and it does not remove the weeds. Save your money and don’t buy this

It sure saves a lot of back ache.
