Love it
This is a fabulous tool. I all but stop making chicken because I hated to shred it with forks. I just shredded chicken in a matter of seconds. Also, the booklet says that the item is dishwasher safe. I will update my review if it doesn’t work well in the dishwasher, but other than that, it is a fabulous tool.

Good quality
I've purchased these twice to make my own extract. The first time was for gifting, the last purchase was for 1 gift and one for myself. I get two bottles out of one package. It smells and tastes wonderful and might not save you much money as opposed to buying extract in the store but I think it's worth it. Especially if you make some earlier in the year and give it to someone that loves to bake for the holidays.

A win-win situation!
I was just about out of vanilla extract when I happened to read a recipe for making your own. All it takes are vanilla beans and vodka, plus the bottles to put it in. I decided this was my type of recipe! The vanilla beans get stronger the longer you allow them to stay in the bottle, but they look so “professional” just peeking out the top of the mixture, I haven’t gotten rid of them yet, and I’ve been using this mixture all year! (This also makes a great Christmas gift for the more crafty people among us.) Admittedly they were a little difficult to slice to expose the little seeds, but I could use all the beans as they were obviously fresh and showed no signs of mold. I will not hesitate to re-order these in October, as that gives them time to develop flavor before I gift them to others. By the way, have you priced pure vanilla extract recently? Not only does this taste great—so much better than the expensive store-bought brands—but by making this up yourself, you can save lots of money, too! Definitely a win-win.

Update: the vanilla came out great. Best vanilla ever
I order the beans to make vanilla extract. It came with directions and I followed them. Simple enough..... but in 1 month no vanilla extract. So I added another vanilla bean and after 2 months still no vanilla extract. It smells good but taste like alcohol. I called the company and left several messages. So I am disappointed, I thought I would have real Madagascar vanilla flavoring to use with my Christmas cooking. The vanilla beans were grade A I thought maybe the beans were not good. So I ordered vanilla bean B. Started this set up per instructions and after 30 days no vanilla extract, I called again and no help. I would not waste my money on there vanilla beans. I spent about $30 and I should have just bought the $30 bottle at the store! I called again and this time I got to speak with someone and told him the problem. He said it is 1 oz of vanilla beans to 8 oz of alcohol . He then told me he would send me more vanilla beans. A week later 1 oz of vanilla beans arrived, I followed his instructions now I wait and see how it turns out. This company I would say had great customer service! He listened and came up with a solution to the problem. So I am happy. Will post outcome of extract.

Will buy again!
This has worked very nicely for my homemade premium vanilla extract that has evolved from just a simple holiday gift to family members to know a highly sought after product I sell at local pop-ups and events. Beans are fresh, thick, and have as beautiful of an aroma as they do flavor!

Smaller than I expected.
Ordered these to make my 1st batch of vanilla extract. These were my first time working with vanilla beans and I was disappointed in the size and dryness and they did not have much vanilla aroma to them. I made the extract using these beans so I’m curious to see how it turns out.Hope it’s good because these aren’t cheap but I will not purchase these again.

I'm making my own vanilla . It's gotten very expensive. I used vodka as the alcohol . It's been aging 5 monthes and I expect to try it soon . It was very easy to do .

Fuzzy Beans
So I decided to jump on the homemade vanilla extract bandwagon for the first time. I did the research and decided on these Madagascar Vanilla beans as well as the Tahitian beans. They arrived last week and as I knew I would not be able to start the extract process immediately, I followed the instructions and sealed them in 3 freezer zip lock bags and placed them on a shelf in my basement. Yesterday I prepped everything and sliced up the beans and carefully placed them into my jars. So far so good. The beans looked fine both outside and inside. I poured the hard alcohols (vodka, rum, and bourbon) into the jars and closed them up. Once they were all filled I gave them a shake and set them aside to start the second batch. My husband came over and looked at the jars and asked if the beans were supposed to be fuzzy. HUH??? Fuzzy??? So I took a look. Sure enough it looked like a fuzzy growth had sprung out of nowhere and were growing out of the beans. I shook the jars again and the fuzz started to detach and float all over. I took pictures and we both researched what this could be. Was it mold?? I don't know. All I know if that we could not find an answer as to what this was. Quite a few people have asked this question but no one seems to be able to provide an answer. It looks gross. Completely unappetizing. My Tahitian beans don't seem to have this problem but the Madagascar beans do. And its in all my jars. These were not cheap but it's also the alcohol that has been wasted. Very disappointed. I will be reaching out to the seller to hopefully find out what this is. Be cautious. Lots of great reviews but there are some bad experiences out there. I took a chance. It did not work in my favor. *** UPDATE*** I originally rated this as 1 star. I have updated my rating to 3 stars. I contacted the seller directly and asked about the fuzzy beans. The response (which came before my original review was even posted) stated that the fuzz "...was not mold unless it was there from the beginning. That would have been evident from the surface of the beans. It is nothing more than proteins, waxes, etc. that are being pulled out." Other information was provided but this I found most important. I will not rate higher as I am annoyed that this happened and that I had to reach out to get more information. At least it appears that this is still OK to consume. It just doesn't look pretty.
