応用言語学の本として一番最初に読むには最適の本です。chapterも分かりやすく構成されていて、英語もわかりやすい。さらに具体的なマテリアルも掲載されていて理解しやすいです。応用言語学を学んでない人でも、特に教育関係の人にはぜひ読んで欲しい一冊です！！

はじめのうちは教育専門用語がなかなかやっかいに感じるかもしれないが、読み進めていくうちにそれは克服できます。 いろんな教師の教材ややり方が載せられているのでとても参考になるのは確かですが、もう一歩というところもありました。例えば「語彙」の章です。一つの章にまとまっているのですが、結局は「語彙教育に関する研究はあまり行われていない。そして頑張って覚えた単語は忘れにくい。」の一言で要約できてしまいます。つまり内容的にあまり充実していないかなという印象でした。そういった点ではもう一歩かなと感じますが、総じては勉強になる一冊だと思います。

It is a bunch of different writers' phrases and therefore it is hard to follow the main idea of the book if there is one.

Leider ist dieses Buch von den USA geschickt worden und ist nach über 3 Wochen und ein Paar emails in meinem Postfach gelandet. Was noch besser ist dass es komplet voll mit Notizen angemalt ist sodass ich teilweise nicht mehr lesen kann. Einfach schee.

Great book for ESL teachers

Excellent quality and it is the revised edition of 2019.

This book covered all the important things you would want to know about teaching English as foreign language.

This book is so technical and wordy it loses any content worth understanding. I took a class with 15 other students and they all felt the same. There was very little learning to be gained. If you don't have to buy it don't.
