The Elements of Style Workbook: Writing Strategies with Grammar Book (Writing Workbook Featuring New Lessons on Writing with Style)

New workbook. Really helps.

Very useful for an intermediate to advanced writer. To get the most out of it, you need to have the basics under your belt. Not for English as a second language unless you are already far along the learning curve. Having said that, for the intended audience, it is excellent.

This is the book I should have had years ago, before college, during college.

This book invents exercises for Strunk & White's most important lessons in writing. As a college professor, I thought I had hit the jackpot with this book, but the book contains a major downside: the answers are posted right next to each exercise. Even the most honest student may have a hard time averting her eyes in order to complete the exercises unassisted. At minimum the authors should have put all of the answers in the very back of the text (or better yet, create an edition without answers at all). The visibility of the answers decreases the value of the exercises, so it pains me to say that I probably won't assign this text.

Great for HS review!

Good exercises based on Strunk & White's famous grammar book. Publishing the suggested answers separately or giving access to them in a password protected website would be useful when using this book in a classroom. Otherwise, the students are inclined to copy the answers provided in the book. Having the answer separately available for the teacher would be useful as many of these answers the students may give on their own.

From the subtly of usage, composition, and approaches to one’s own writing style makes study and writing intriguing and worthwhile. Thank you for your part to enrich my life.

Many of the exercises don't have suggested answers. This workbook is more suitable for students with access to a tutor.
