This is the ONE
I FINALLY found it. The perfect backpack and lunchbox combination. I have an absent mind, so I was desperate to find just one bag that I could use for everything. It’s easier for me to keep up with one bag rather than two. Plus, when I’m on the go, I can be sure I have everything I need in one place. I've tried several different kinds over the past couple of years and they've mainly been the kind that open in the front at the bottom. The main issue with those is that the lunch compartment becomes virtually useless if you put anything in the bag. They also fall over and don’t stand on their own because of their awkward composition. I finally decided to try this one, where each compartment is separate and I am IN LOVE. I was worried the top would collapse into the bottom if I put anything in it, but it doesn't. The bag actually stands on its own instead of slumping over, even though the bottom part isn't hard-walled. The bag is solid as a rock. What's even better, I had a fridge tray I wasn't using that fit perfectly in the bottom of it, making it even more solid. It'll also provide a little more protection from anything sharp that could jab a hole in it. Plus, if anything spills out, it’ll be easier to clean the tray than the bag liner. If you’re interested in doing that as well, the tray is 6x10 inches.Another thing I was worried about is whether or not the backpack part up top would be big enough for my everyday items. I carry an A6 binder, a small planner, writing utensils, a wallet, a checkbook, check register, and a few small items you’d typically keep in a purse. They all fit perfectly in the front bottom compartment and the top. I have my umbrella in one side and the other side is kept free for my water bottle. I was pleasantly surprised to find yet another small compartment at the top that I can store quick access stuff in like my chapstick and hand lotion. All the zippers work smoothly and the material seems like it could stand up to wear and tear. The straps are very well padded and the bag is comfortable to wear. I hope not to overload it because I don’t want to push my luck with what it can handle and I want it to last, but the bag itself is pretty lightweight with nothing in it. It’s plenty big enough for a day out on the lake or beach, but it’s not gigantic like some of the bags I’ve tried. I’d say it’s the perfect size.I have to be honest, even if I only get a year or two out of the bag, I’d happily buy it again. It’s rare that when I have something in mind, I actually find exactly what it is that I’m looking for. I’d be open to trying other brands, but I’d likely still come back to this one.

Perfect for the beach
I did a ton of research before buying this backpack, and am so thankful I went with this one. The concept of a backpack cooler is perfect for my lifestyle. I mainly plan to use it for trips to the beach, picnics, and weekend getaways.I live in the city, so a trip to the beach usually involves public transit, and being hands-free with this backpack has significantly improved my journey. In the large cooler compartment, I am easily able to fit 2 frozen water bottles, 6 bottles of beer, a large icepack, 2 sandwiches (in containers), 2 pieces of fruit, and 2 granola bars. After a 2-hour trip the beer was still cold (though not ice cold) at the beach. After a full day, and lots of opening and closing the cooler, one of the bottles of water that we didn't drink was still slushy when we got home. The backpack comes with an attached bottle opener, which was handy. If you're a beach minimalist, It's definitely doable to get everything you need to bring into this bag. I was able to squeeze two thin beach towels into the upper compartment and a thin sheet to use as a beach blanket fit in the larger front zipper pocket. Sunscreen in one side pocket, magazines in the other, and we were good to go.The backpack was easy to wipe down and clean afterwards. I gave it a scrub with a slightly soapy sponge, let it dry, and vacuumed sand out of all the nooks and crannies the next day. Good as new.I also used this backpack to bring food to an AirBNB for a weekend getaway. The large cooler compartment easily held 14 frozen NYC bagels with room to spare. This will be perfect for bringing treats home for the holidays on the plane.

My favorite bag!
I love this backpack. I use it less as a cooler and more as a travel bag. It fits a weekend's worth of clothes and toiletries in the bottom part, leaving the top part for snacks and other things. And if I want to bring a cooler with us for the day, voila! It's a cooler! I bring those blue ice thingies with me or I just put ice in it. Gotta be REAL careful with what you pack in it though. The liner is pretty thin and will tear. That's why I tend to use the blue plastic chillers instead of ice. You gotta have realistic expectations of its cooler abilities. It ain't a Yeti. It ain't even a cheap hard-sided cooler like a Coleman. But it definitely will keep a six pack cold for the day.It has become my "man purse" LOL. The front pocket stays stocked with phone charges, medicine, a knife, etc. I probably shouldn't even say this, but the little pocket inside the front pocket holds my compact Glock 43 perfectly if I don't want to conceal carry on my body. I carry this bag with me everywhere when I'm traveling. I'm like the camel that holds everything for me and my wife. The outside bottle pockets are perfect for insulated cups or bottles.I wore my first one out after like four years. Honestly, it was still working just fine, but it started looking ratty so I bought another one. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!

Good bag, zipper tends to fail.
So I have bought three of these now. My last one lasted me right at a year. I used it as my lunch box for work everyday. My only complaint is that the zipper fails me. The zipper has broken in the same spot on the last two that I had, in the curve of the cooler compartment. Other than that I love this thing. It works great for a lunch box along with storage for other items!

Game Changer!
I work as a DSP and carrying around a cooler to and from work is a hassle. I came across this Cooler backpack and read review after review. After comparing to a runner up I decided to go with this one and I’m glad I did! Its material is better than I anticipated. The storage space is amazing and pockets to fit everything you need. separate spaces for dry and wet goods. The insulation seems ok, I haven’t tried it with ice packs yet but it does keep cold bottled waters longer than expected. Highly recommend!
