Carhartt Men's Storm Defender® Loose Fit Heavyweight Jacket Jacket

Carrhart are generally a little on the big side, I’m a uk XL and I ordered this size, it was the right choice with enough room for layers. It’s a heavyweight coat with storm cuffs and a generous hood which should help to keep the weather out. Outside pockets to either side are slanted and have a good drop into the bottom which should help to prevent loss of anything placed in them, zippers are also provided. Not used in inclement weather yet but I have every confidence in this coat. Breast pocket is again a good size and zippered, the internal pocket is a little on the small side. It’s the second Carrhart item I’ve bought from kustom kult, based in Germany, delivery is good as is the price

Fantastic jacket for the money. I grew tired of North face as literally everyone has one now. This is similar to the North face Hyvent/Tri Climate jackets but a bit heavier and actually waterproof as opposed to shower proof. I'm 6'3 130kg and it fits right. Ideally I'd love it to be an inch or 2 longer but thats just my preference. Plenty pocket space too. 2 standard side pockets (zipped) 2 inner pockets (velcro) and big enough for your phone and 1 zipper outer chest pocket again bit enough for your phone. Has 2 tabs for hanging too but that's the kinda quality I've come to expect from Carhartt. Honestly you could spend €300-€400 on a similar jacket from similar brands that won't be as well made as this.

Superb! Perfect for walking the dog in the rain! Not too heavy either, so it can be layered. Looks fab and quality, as always from Carhartt is great. Came from the US in very quick time. Excellent. Delighted. Great price and sizing is accurate.

Brilliant rain coat. I work in gardening and this is easily the best wet weather work coat I have owned in 20 years. I does get wet around the wrists as you as working and it should be noted that this coat on its own is not that warm, you need layers underneath. But your 99% of your torso and arms stay dry which is the main reason.

My son works outside in Maine, and this coat really made a difference for him.

I’m an HVAC installation technician and I’ve been looking for a heavy duty hard shell for a while. Wasn’t going to review so soon as today was my first day wearing it to work. However I received numerous compliments from guys at work saying how great it looked and asking the name of it. It felt fairly stiff out the box, however I know it will break in and it has enough space to layer with my Carhartt Heavy Weight Rain Defender hoodie that’s a size Large although I bought this jacket in Medium. It almost seems too good to use as a work jacket but it’s tough shell quickly reminds me that it’s designed to handle it. I haven’t tested it properly as yet in rain but worked outside in fairly strong winds today and felt properly protected. This is not a winter jacket or a jacket intended to keep you warm on its own in colder temperatures. If you’re buying it for that then you’re wasting your money. This is a heavyweight rain/wind jacket for someone who will wear layers and needs a tough outer shell that will be great against wind and rain while also being abrasive resistant. I read reviews about the hood being too large, however as I’ll be wearing a hat/beanie the majority of the time with it, that won’t be an issue. I also don’t find the hood to be much larger than my other rain jackets (North Face & Helly Hansen) hood. When working in high winds, I actually prefer a larger hood as it provides more face protection.
