Q: Can this be used wired as well? Since the battery inside is not user replaceable, do you just throw away the whole keyboard, or is it dual power?

I don't know why the other user gave you incorrect information. The keyboard 100% has wired mode. Plug a USB-C cord into your computer and the keyboard, then press "FN + Eject Key" on the keyboard (Eject Key is to right of F12). Bluetooth will turn off, the keyboard will be charging, and it will still work with your computer.

Q: What is the battery life if you have backlight off?

Thank you for choosing Satechi and for reaching out to us. We first recommend charging the keyboard for at least 2-3 hours with the included charging cable with a power adapter for a more efficient charge. (18W and up) If you are using the backlight all the time at the highest brightness, it can drain the battery quite fast, but it does have a standby shut-off mode, that kicks in after 30min of non-usage. You can change the settings so it does not completely shut off. With no backlight on, the battery is about 60hrs. If you would like to use the backlight and not worry about the battery, you can also use the keyboard in wired mode. While using one of the two cables included, you can use the key combination (fn+usb/eject) to turn off the Bluetooth and use it in wired-only mode. A green light will stay lit on the top right when in this mode

Q: Is this backwards compatible with bluetooth 2.1? i cant get it to connect to my macbook (late 2008) eventhough my os is up to date...
