Better than the Petzl!
Absolutely more durable and useful that then Petzl I was usually issued. All of the Petzls I had seem to be delicate and break over time. This Princeton is definitely more durable that the Petzl and I am happy I chose this to replace the old Petzl. I like it and bought another one as a back-up as I always seem to misplace things. Seriously, you can't go wrong with this one.

Great light
These lights are great for pretty much anything from hiking to reading maps during rucks. The light is 450 lumen so it's pretty bright and it have red light so you can read maps without exposing yourself too much. It takes standard AAA so you won't ever have problems sourcing batteries. I read other reviews that the battery door is a weak spot that tends to break a lot but so far I haven't have problem with that yet but for $35 I would consider it a consumable that needs replacing every 6-12 months. But ya it works great so don't hesitate to get one (or two if you are worry about the battery door) and use it.

Two levels of red light
I bought this because it has two levels of red light and that's perfect for hunting. It's very bright when the white spot light is turned on. I would definitely recommend it.

Easy to use, bright
The light is easy to use, I like that it starts in Red light low, it has a single switch that if pressed multiple times it will get brighter and a press and hold will switch to white light. It is nice and light, seems well made but I am a little disappointed in the battery door as this seems like it will be a failure point. I also am unsure on the weather resistance of it. It does not seem that well sealed against the elements. The low power mode leads to a long run time.

Quality Headlamp
I bought this headlamp as a gift for my dad, & he loves it! It’s great to have for emergencies such as power outages or when you need hands free light when working on a project! The headlamp is a great value for the cost, very easy to use, & a comfortable fit with an adjustable strap.

tough to beat
there are literally hundreds of headlamps to choose from. Lumens, modes, on and on. I have found the Princeton Tec to be one of the best in terms of durability and reliability. The response to the on/off button is immediate, the brightness is excellent, and the straps hold their elasticity. My only complaint (and I'm not alone on this) is the battery compartment. It is truly a poor design because over time you will break the tab that keeps the battery enclosed, and almost pull your fingernail off opening it up over the years. Pull too fast and hard and you break the tab. Princeton Tec needs to completely redesign this on their lights, but I still believe overall their headlamps are tough to beat.

Great astronomy flashlight
The default behavior of this light is switch on with a dim red light that preserves your night vision. Many other LED flashlights and headlamps get this wrong, first blinding you with brilliant white light before allowing you to select red which defeats the whole purpose of the red light feature in the first place. Kudos to the Princeton Tec engineers for getting this right! If you do want brilliant white light, it certainly has that. You just need to consciously select it. The build quality and materials of this headlamp are top notch and it is lightweight and comfortable to wear. Last but not least, it is made in USA!

Cheap plastic, broke very easily. Don’t buy.
Yeah…no…. So take this to heart, because I did something…but I am not being unreasonable. I was taking this out of the package. It came in a flat plastic package with the body of the light unpackaged and the backside of the light being held within the package. I grabbed the body of the light and turned it, as to remove it without using a knife or scissors. I didn’t apply hardly any torque and it snapped, rendering it completely unusable as a headlamp. So… is that how you’re supposed to open it? No it’s not. Did I abuse it while opening it? No I didn’t. If I had been wearing it and took a nasty fall or dropped it, I have no doubt it wouldn’t have held up. Careful inspection shows this is extremely cheap plastic being used. You can click on my info, I have left very, very few bad reviews. I generally review a product cuz I want people to know it’s a great product. This is crap. I come from a law enforcement background and am currently in flight school and needed a red headlamp for night flying. I appreciate durable gear and am not afraid to spend the money to get it. I could not find anything reputable for red headlamps. I took a gamble on this and I lost. Since it was broke anyway, I let my curiosity take the lead and decided I would grab the back piece where the band attaches to the lamp and apply pressure to see how much it took to break outside of the package. You can see the photo where the broken part is next to the lamp— I applied what must have been less than 5 pounds of Pressure and it snapped like the piece of garbage it is. If you want a lamp just for extremely light duty work- say—checking cows at night or finding your real flash light in your vehicle, this might work…it’ll work the same as the $3 headlamp in the middle of the aisle at Walmart. I expect my gear to be able to save my life if I need it to. I am extremely disappointed in this. Not asking for a refund cuz I don’t wanna deal with Amazon and try and lie my way out of it. It doesn’t matter if “I broke it” or not, it shouldn’t have broke. It’s a piece of garbage and I have decided to stick with surefire. I’ll put the surefire Aviator in my mouth while I’m flying cuz this head lamp is not suitable for anything beyond a child’s play thing. Shame on this company for peddling this crap. DO NOT BUY IF YOU NEED IT FOR REAL WORK. If you want trash then get trash, but spend $25 less at the dollar tree on it. I guess better now than when I’m depending on it to read charts in pitch blackness. To the waste bin you go Princeton Tec. You make trash. I guess I got 3 AAA batteries out of the deal 🙄 Note: I took multiple photos but I’ve literally spent 30 min trying to get them to upload and I don’t care enough about this little project to devote more time. So shame on you Amazon for that.

I'm incredibly impressed with this Princeton headlamp! It truly delivers on high quality for its price point, feeling robust and well-made. The brightness is more than ample for all my needs, illuminating everything perfectly. While it does start in red light mode (a minor personal preference I was aware of before buying), this doesn't detract from its overall excellence. I specifically sought out another Princeton headlamp after misplacing my previous one, which had been a reliable companion for over a decade of frequent use. This new model lives up to the brand's reputation for durability and performance. Highly recommend it if you're looking for a dependable, bright, and well-built headlamp that offers fantastic value!

降雨のあと完全に乾かして使用、通常の白色ランプをつけたところ1分ほどで消えてしまう事態が治らず 雨に弱いTechnicalライトなんて要らないよね(汗)
