I got this to help me make maple key fairy wings for a renaissance fair and a fake sword. It works great for both being easy to work with, light weight and making the props look great. For the cardboard sword I struggled to get it super smooth but I’m still working with it and the base is kind of crazy. However it was the PERFECT thing to finalize my wings. In the photo you can see I used it to cover up the clothes hanger support wire along the top and then to do the veining.

I really love this clay! I’m no expert in crafting and don’t do this type of thing often, but I thought it would be fun to try as a beginner, and it’s been perfect for making small figures and designs. It took a little time to get the hang of how it works, and I did a few test figures first. The foam does bounce back a bit as you mold it, so you’ll need to adjust from time to time. One thing to note is to be careful how you set your pieces to dry, as they do flatten on the side they’re resting on. I’ve found it works best when they have one designated base to sit on. As it dries, the outer layer becomes rigid, while the inside remains soft, which allows you to add texture and detail like puncture holes. The clay sticks to itself effortlessly, making it easy to add pieces on or place little details without damaging them (like the little flowers on my bear.) I also experimented with adding a tiny bit of acrylic paint to alter the base color, which worked fine, though adding too much will cause the clay to seize up and become difficult to mold. I also found it paints beautifully once dried. When fully hardened, the clay is lightweight and solid, though it does take some time to fully dry inside, even if it feels dry to the touch outside. I know it's fully dried when I can knock on it and it doesn't bounce back at all and sounds hollow inside. Overall, it’s been a really fun clay to work with, and I’m excited to keep experimenting!

In case anyone is new to using this product you need to know that if it really sticky or tacky you need to work it a little longer then you would if it’s a little moist. You can use this product so easily and it is so versatile. You can use it silicone moulds or casting moulds or just raw in its own form to design prosthetics for cosplay or Halloween costumes so much fun to use and the best part is it air dries so you do it need a firing range to dry it. Also it shrinks less than regular clay. If you enjoy crafts this is a definite must.

The package did come arrive cracked, however the clay was sealed in a zip lock bag and works great! Definitely seems like some really good lightweight clay for cosplay!
