Cocoweb 19" Grand Piano Lamp - Adjustable, Black with Brass Accents, LED Clip-on with Dimmer - GPLED19D

Bought this fixture to replace an old fluorescent one which was not really doing the job on the church piano. The Cocoweb unit is much brighter and the included dimmer control allows you to adjust the amount of light to whatever level you desire. The fixture has a clean, stylish look which complements the baby grand piano, yet it's slim size almost makes it seem to disappear when turned off. The only thing I didn't like was the foam tape provided to secure the dimmer in place. Totally unsuitable by my standards. Instead, I machined a block of aluminum to hold the dimmer and attached it to the rear of the clamping bracket (see pics #1-3). This provided a centered mounting and still allowed easy adjustment of the dimmer when necessary. Be aware that there is an error in the description about the thickness range of the music rest which can be accommodated by the clamp of this fixture. It is capable of attaching on 3/8" up to 9/16", but not any thicker, unless you remove the padded pressure plate from inside the clamp. I don't recommend doing that, because the thumbscrews could mar the rear of the music rest when they are tightened, without the padded plate in place. All in all, it's a great light fixture, although I think it's priced a bit higher than necessary. However, I was unable to find anything else that was comparable at a lower cost, so the choice was pretty simple.

I do not have a grand piano. I cannot read sheet music. I do have a custom-built cabinet for my record collection and I required a light fixture for the top shelf that looked cool and articulated enough that I could see what I was looking for at night even when really drunk. You know, gotta find THAT ONE Cramps LP. I built the record cabinet out of 3/4in Birch plywood and as luck would have it the Cocoweb 19in light mounting fixture was already perfectly set up for this. Slip fit over the back, locked down with two thumb screws and done. Also has an optional dimmer control. Totally diggin' it so far. If you are looking for a stylish light fixture for an unorthodox application besides piano music boards this is a solid choice.

After researching different options for months I decided to purchase this lamp for my new Kawai digital piano. At first I was worried it wouldn’t fit well on a digital piano but saw that a few other reviewers had used it on comparable models. The color options available can match just about any finish. The dimmer is such a nice feature and I was quite surprised at how good it was for being on an LED lamp. This lamp deserves the 5 stars in my book. That being said I do feel like the price is a bit steep, but the quality is definitely superior. Nothing about it feels cheap. I was lucky enough to be able to get this lamp while a deal was going which made the purchase a bit easier to justify. In the end I think it’s still worth the cost!

This is a little pricey, but it is nicely designed and built, and serves a real need. It illuminates the music brightly but softly and uniformly. It is *not* dimmable that I am aware of, though other models may be. As other reviews noted, it also illuminates the keyboard.With my particular music desk and preferred position, it casts a harsh shadow on the back of the keys., This is not a problem for me, and serves as a reminder that for good sight reading one should keep glances at the keyboard to a minimum. If you're a teacher and want to emphasize good hand position it could be a very minor issue. As noted by other reviewers, if you want to close up your grand piano completely when not in use you'll have to take the lamp off. To this end, being able to unplug the power adapter at the lamp end is a plus. A minus is that you have to undo two screw clamps. The lamps is not all that heavy (it only looks it) and I think a stiff spring clamp would do the job as well and be a lot more convenient. There have apparently been problems with the power adapter. Some users complained of early failure. I have been using my lamp for a couple of weeks and so far have not had problems. Hopefully the problem has been corrected. But assuming you need to purchase an adapter out of warranty, there are plenty of generic power supplies available that can supply 24 volts at 2 amperes. If the one you find does not have the correct plug and you are uncomfortable with attaching the original one find someone who is. I would not forgo this lamp because of that issue.

The light is well made, easy to assemble, easy to attach to the piano’s music stand and has a nice long cord. It is bright enough to see your music clearly in an otherwise dark room. The light bar adjusts smoothly so you can have it exactly where you want the light to shine (on the music and not in your eyes). The dimmer switch uses a real potentiometer and is self contained with its own input and output. I don’t plan to use it but it is a nice option to have and I appreciate that I don’t have to have it attached at all. The whole thing is unobtrusive and well designed. There is no way that it will mar your piano either.

This is a beautiful, high-quality lamp that I am proud to put on my new piano! It took a little time to read the instructions and warnings, as well as unpack the carefully packaged lamp. I installed it on my piano and was able to get it adjusted exactly as I wanted. It is streamlined and sturdy. Really lights up the area: a full 3 pages across and the whole keyboard.

I am very pleased with this piano light for our baby grande piano. It is worth the cost - it’s got a dimmer with a wide range, it’s sleek and fits securely on the piano. It’s as artistic as it is functional !

Die Lampe sieht sehr gut aus, ist gut verarbeitet und funktioniert einwandfrei. Die Lampe kann in der Höhe verstellt werden, sitzt gut auf dem Notenpult. Ein Dimmer-Teil liegt auch bei, das man bei Bedarf einschleifen kann. Es gibt ein paar kleine Details, die schöner sein könnten (z.B. der billig wirkende Einschalthebel oder die außen aufgesetzten Schrauben), wir haben in Deutschland aber keine andere Flügellampe gefunden, die so minimalistisch-elegant ist. Die Lampe kommt allerdings aus USA, wir mussten noch ca. 50 Euro Zoll / Steuern zahlen, die wir aber prompt von Cocoweb zurückerhalten haben. Außerdem muss man sich noch einen Adapter von US-Flachstecker auf EU-Norm zulegen (kostet 1 Euro vom Amazon-Chinesen), die Lampe kann aber auch direkt über ein Gleichstrom-Netzteil betrieben werden. Der Kontakt zum Kundenservice wird prompt und sehr zuvorkommend beantwortet. Ich würde die Lampe jederzeit für Flügel empfehlen.
