Seller: does yr. oil have petroleum oils added to stretch it? need for clothes dryer balls. pet. base oils (now) stink like engine oil when heated :(

This is NOT AN ESSENTIAL OIL, IT IW WATER WITH FRAGRANCE DONT USE ON YOUR PETS IT IS TOXIC FOR THEM!!! None of the are, The "essential oils" I bought were not oils at all, they were "floral waters" scented with "natural fragrance" even though they clearly said essential oil on the front, and the ingredients list states 100% essential oil. I bought 6 oils, Rosemary, Lavender, Atlas Cedarwood, Thyme, Lemongrass, and neem. I have good oils for making soaps, but I was out and needed these faster than my normal channel could ship, so I tried these. They were more expensive than my quality oils from New Directions Aromatics, even with the shipping. In big letters and in the advertisement they state they are ESSENTIAL OILS, 100% NATURAL. The labeling doesn't meet FDA guidelines, on the outside of the boxes it simply lists essential oil. FDA requires the label to list the water, the fragrance, the essential oils (haha) and the polysorbate 20 and the preservative. There is a broad definition of natural that includes "Nature Identical Fragrances" so they squeak by on that. But the context is DESIGNED TO DECEIVE YOU. How do I know these are the ingredients? These are like room sprays, google it, you will see. Anything with water requires a preservative. When I shake the bottles they bubble up and foam. That means it contains a surfactant/solubilizer like polysorbate 20 I'm guessing, and it is clearly water because oils dont foam, and you can tell by the feel and texture they contain oil but are mostly water. These are not listed in the ingredients on the exterior box and on the bottles either, but the hint is the bottle has a section that reads "Natural Perfumery- Made with 100% natural fresh FLORAL FRAGRANCE that blends well with almost any other essence". These alleged essential oils don't remotely smell anything like the essential oils they claim to contain. These don't contain the essential oils they claim to be. They ALL smell the same on drydown, like fabuloso cleaner. THESE ARE NOT ESSENTIAL OILS NOR DO THEY CONTAIN ESSENTIAL OILS!! DONT BUY!!!! I would give zero stars if I could. SCAM!!!!

I've heard lavender essential oil is an effective alternative to mothballs. Has anyone tried it? Thanks!

Based on the chemical structure of the active ingredient in moth balls, napthelene, your best bet would be to use other bicyclic sesquiterpenes such as Juniper and Cedar oils. Cedar would likely be more effective than Lavender which lacks the aromatic functional group as a monocyclic chemical structure. Lavender is at most 5% active as a sesquiterpene versus 10% for Juniper berry and 32% in cedar (Texas over Virginia)

It states for external use only, means can not be used to flavor water or any foods?

If it's telling you is for external consumption, listen to it. For something to be sold as "food" the machinery it is processed in has to be made out of materials that are safe to interact with the different ingredients without leaching (stainless steel of a certain grade, seals in between metal parts made out of rubber that won't degrade when in contact with this oil). If the manufacturer cannot guarantee that, the product is not deemed for consumption.

Would this work as a personal travel insect repellant?

I use it for this purpose... I just put a dab on my inner wrists and behind my knees - or wherever else I feel exposed. Also works well if you put a few drops on sandals, socks, bras, undies, hair-bands etc. I have very sensitive skin and have never had a reaction to this...

A lovely fragrance to mix with a good carrier oil for skin care.

I bought this lavender essence along with a bottle of grape seed oil also from Amazon. Adding several drops of the lavender to a pot of the grape seed oil makes a lovely mixture for your skin. The grape seed oil is the carrier oil. I’ve reordered the lavender and recommend it.

Moths Excellent Deterrent

I just purchased this lavender oil to deter pantry moths in one of my kitchen drawer. I have never experience moths in my house ever before. So, I cleared the drawer and clean thoroughly and then I sprayed lavender oil. The drawer has been cleared of infestation for 3 months. However, I have put all porridge oats in plastic containers and every week I put cotton wool soaked in lavender oil.

Lavender oil with a delicate smell

I ordered this Lavender oil to compare it to others I have already had. I can say this oil arrived promptly and well-packed. The bottle cap was sealed to prevent oil from leaking. A long pipette was included in the box to replace the bottle cap. As I read others' reviews about the smell, I have to add that there are many different Lavender oils on the market. My first ever Lavender oil smells so strong that nearly made me hate it. Then I bought a French one, it has nearly the same smell. I also have a Lavandin oil from France. Honestly, there are many Lavender oils out there on the market and all they smell differently. This one has very a gentle scent, not abrupt smell. If you are looking for one that will make your eyes water and hit your nostrils in a way you won't be able to smell anything else long after that, this one is not for you. If you want, on the other hand, a delicate smell for relaxing or for a massage oil, you can opt for this one. It is really a personal choice. But only because the smell differs from others, that does not make it less Lavender oil. Choose wisely!

I put a few drop of lavender essential oil on the edge of my pillowcase. Wonderful, calming fragrance that's not too strong. I slept better after using this product!

I’m really happy with this Majestic Pure Lavender Essential Oil. The scent is fresh, clean, and very calming without being overpowering.
