What is the storage life for this milk ?

Powdered milk can go bad, but it takes awhile. Most manufacturers recommend using powdered milk (also known as dried milk) within 18 months, but this is really just a "best by" date. According to the USDA, powdered milk can be stored indefinitely. An unopened package is probably still usable for two to 10 years after the printed "best by" date. Some survival stores sell nonfat dry powdered milk labeled with a 25-year shelf life. But the shelf life does depend on the type of powdered milk. Nonfat powdered milk lasts longer than powdered whole milk or buttermilk, as fat is less stable. As such, nonfat dried milk is preferred for long-term food storage. If you are looking at the label of dried whole milk, you will want to use it up soon after the "best by" date. If you store powdered milk in the freezer, it will be good indefinitely.

What is the shelf life and once open how long does it keep

The can that I have opened says it was packed October 2012 and expires October 2014...2 years. I opened this can about a week and a half ago. We use at this time only for coffee creamer as we don't like the additives and ingredients in prepared. I use 1 Tablespoon dry in each cup. If I didn't use anymore from this can that is opened I would expect it to last at least 6-8 months. I like the ability to make milk if needed for cooking...but purchased it to use as coffee creamer. I am "into" food storage and would expect the unopened can to last at least 3 years over the printed expiration date. If I found out otherwise I would open the can and reseal with oxygen absorbers in canning jars...hope this helps you make a decision. This is the best milk powder I have found..

Does this product contain soy?

Ingredients list soy lecithin, so I guess it does.

Is this organic? Does this have preservatives or chemicals?
