Men's Targhee 3 Low Height Waterproof Hiking Shoes

I own four different styles of KEEN footwear, and this will be my third purchase of this particular style. As long as they keep making them, I will be a forever KEEN customer. I've read some of the other reviews and haven't had any issues whatsoever with poor quality and wearability. In fact, the opposite. I wear them daily to work, easily 9 months out of the year, and hike in them frequently--never had any issues with the soles giving out after a year or less, mine have lasted almost two years each time and they are rigorously tested. They are breathable, water proof and very comfortable to wear, even on hard surfaces. Note: they run true to size. Highly recommend! Love my KEEN's...

Keens are great shoes, they require a good break in period but well worth it. I bought these to replace a 14 year old pair that I still wear but beat to heck. Pricey but worth the money. They have a wide toe box which is perfect for me.

This is my 3rd pair of Keen shoes in 10 years. The first two pairs were extremely durable and each lasted about 4 to 6 years of everyday use. My experience has been nothing but positive with this brand. My first pair was purchased at a Tractor Supply store in 2016. The second pair were bought on Amazon in 2022, and now in 2026 this is my 3rd pair if Keen's. Going off of the two previous pairs, these held up allot better than your average cheap pair of Walmart shoes, which was what I bought before 2016. Sure these are more expensive, but with Keen shoes, you really do get what you pay for, and more. This time I ordered a half size bigger than I previously bought, which a is perfect fit for me. I expect these shoes will last another 4 to 6 years, going off my first two pairs. Time will tell. I'm happy to stick with this brand for so long now.

I do a LOT of walking, much of it in urban areas but also on trails. I have heard about the KEEN shoes for years, and I finally got a pair late in 2023. (The pair I purchased more recently from Amazon was to replace that earlier pair.) The news is mostly good. They are very comfortable shoes, and I especially appreciate the roomy toe area. The uppers are solid and stand up to mud and water — I've used them for long walks in rain. The thickness and stiffness of the sole is just right for me — not too stiff for the urban walking, but providing enough cushion and stiffness for hiking on trails, including somewhat rough trails. The little loop at the heel is actually useful when putting the shoes on. The lacing system is straightforward and effective. The shoes were comfortable right out of the box and remained so. I would like to mention two issue that buyers should be aware of. First, like many similar shoes, the removable cushioned insoles are not very durable. After six months of use or a bit less the fabric on top of the insoles began to wear and I had to replace them. More concerning to me is that the soles wore down significantly after six months, to the point that all of the heel tread was gone and a hole revealed the underlying (and less protective) inner foam layer. Unfortunately, the soles are not replaceable. In fairness, I walk a lot and I do wear shoes out this way. But do be aware of this if you purchase this shoe.

I bought the mid hight model of the same shoe and was very happy. Do I decided to also try the low version. At first they were abit tight but after half an hour of walking they fit like a glove. Excellent traction on wet trails. Wide fit.

This is my 6th pair of Targhee 3's. I am a 350lb football lineman who moves fast for my size. An average pair of tennis shoes lasts me 2-4 weeks before I destroy the heel from pronation. Even 300$ dress shoes with hard soles only last me maybe 3 months at work before the heel fails. Targhee 3's are lasting me a solid 4 months before the heel is starting to break down. I know for many of you this would not be long enough. But for me that is a really long time. I typically walk 10-20k steps a day 5 days a week. Even though some of my older pairs heel has failed, I can still use them for working in the yard. I try to rotate between the use of each one to help it have time to recover. These shoes are very comfortable, with good arch support and slip resistance.

What I like about the shoe: it feels sturdy, well made, and it is comfortable. It fit me well once the ankle cushion was broken in. I also like that the shoe is 100% leather. What I don't like: fake discounts. The shoe is advertised at 35% off, or $100. I think the pricing point is within the range of similar walking shoes, so it has hard for me to know whether this is a genuine discount or not. There is another Keen shoe 'Targhee 3 Oxford Casual Hiking Shoe' which is made of textile & synthetic material which sells for $64, so $100 for an all leather model is not unreasonable. $155 seems high ($100 after 35% off), so it makes me question whether the discount is real. If I remember, I will update this review in a year or two with comments about durability.

Right out of the box these shoes are very stiff. (A little more stiff than usual) It’s going to take a lot of mileage before they are broken in. My grandfather used to say “soak your new shoes in a pail of water then wear them til they’re dry.” That might be necessary with these. Other than that these shoes look to be the usual high quality of Keen products. 10.5 Wide are true to size and fit me well. I expect these shoes to last at least a couple of years with daily use as have all of my Keen shoes and boots.

Sehr gute Schuhe für Breite Füsse. Sehr bequem auch von Anfang an den Fersen. Für mich um Welten bequmer als meine alten Salomon .Sie sind auch wasserdicht. Sehr gute Verarbeitungsqualität. Habe sie auch schon bein starkem Regen getestet,sie sind absolut dicht, und das für den PReis. Wahrscheinlich die besten Wanderschuhe ,die ich je hatte. Langzeittest fehlt noch, denke aber der wird gut. Ich hatte schon Keen Sandalen, die hielten ewig-Top

Very good for people who need wide fitting

Despite being one of the most comfortable shoes I have ever had, they are so very slippery in the wet condition.
