More supportive and protective than the "sock" style of shoe.

I picked these up as we were going on a cruise and would be doing some waterfall climbing and rafting on an excursion. Also thought they would be good walking around the boat as the pool deck can get pretty hot and these would be easy to put on and take off, and provide protection from hot deck materials. For the price, these are great. They worked really well on our excursion climbing up a waterfall area and river rafting. Grip on the waterfall rocks was good and the shoes dried well. Walking around the boat they worked great as well. The shoes look like sneakers so they go well with shorts/bathing suit and provide great protection and comfort. When at the beach they provide protection from hot sand and you can wear them in the ocean without issue. You can take out the inner lining so that you can get the sand out easier. Overall, these are great shoes for vacation or around your house in the summer. I could easily wear these around at home, to the pool, or for a walk. Well worth the money in my mind.
