Overtone Semi Permanent Hair Color Conditioner, Espresso Brown, 8 oz, Nourishing, Damage-Free, Color Depositing Mask for All Hair Types with Shea Butter & Coconut Oil, Vegan & Cruelty-Free

I was looking for an easy self-apply, healthy and gentle product for my hair. Overtone came up in my search. I will start by saying the smell was minty and fresh and it made my hair baby soft. My hair looked nice and cleansed, refreshed in some sense. However, I had trouble getting color pigment in my hair. I had to leave it in for an hour a second time to grasp some color and apply very heavy handed. I would say after multiple attempts the product did seem to blend my roots with my colored hair somewhat but I wouldn’t say it’s saturated. The application is thick and clay like and wasn’t really easy for me to apply. It seemed to stain just about everything besides my hair lol. It never really seems to wash out of my hair after washing multiple times. Sink, bath and hands (gloves applied) but even just the water washing out stained my hands/nails. A lot of clean up needed and messy product. I am left feeling conflicted but it just doesn’t seem to be the product for me. No harm done but just not the color deposit and application process and cleanliness that I’m looking for.

I used this Overtone Espresso Brown Color Depositing Mask on my husband’s hair. He has naturally black hair with a lot of gray, and it toned the gray really well, blending it naturally with the rest of his hair. The result looked soft and natural, not harsh like regular hair dye. Another big plus is the size of the container. The jar is large and will last a long time, especially compared to regular hair dye that usually only lasts for one use. This makes it very convenient and cost-effective for ongoing maintenance. On top of that, his hair felt soft, healthy, and shiny after using it. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an easy, gentle way to tone gray hair at home.

I got the 8oz Espresso brown conditioner. First 2 pictures are my natural hair (I did not bleach or change it before adding the conditioner, so what you see is dye over that exact color.) The 2nd two pics are the day after I dyed it. The 3rd two pics are 7 days after I dyed it. I did two pics each for different lighting. In the last two pics you can see that it fades reddish, but in bluer lighting it looked chocolate brown. This was so fun to test out dark hair on me. It lasted as that gorgeous rich dark color (see pics 3&4) for about 3 days if I'm being generous, and I don't wash my hair every day. I was it every other day at most. I have fine hair and its about shoulder length, I was able to dye my hair with this stuff twice. It feels almost like a thin clay going on, and has a strong smell. MY HAIR WAS SO THICK, SOFT, AND BOUNCY THE DAY AFTER DYEING IT!!!! IT WAS AWESOME! I got tons of compliments, lots of people said my hair looked much thicker. Also, if it gets on your skin it'll dye it purple for a day lol. I dyed my eyebrows too and it did great, just keep it off of skin you don't want to look like is part of you eyebrow. This stuff definitely has more of a reddish tint so expect it to fade kinda red. My hair naturally has a TINY bit of red in it if ANY. It's naturally very much a true dirty blonde color. Its worth it for the money if you're getting it to TRY a color or use for a cosplay/costume. but it does not last as the color advertised for very long. I had red hair for like a month tho after lol. So it stayed like the last two pics for a whileee. and my hair is very porous and has a history of holding onto temporary dyes for much longer than they say it will. took down one star just bc it didn't last long enough for me, but it was still a very fun experience!

I really like this Overtone treatment mask. The color comes out vibrant without damaging my hair, and it leaves my hair feeling soft and shiny. It’s super easy to use and works fast. The only thing is you have to apply it evenly in small sections or it can look patchy, but once you get the hang of it, the results are great. If you want quick color with no harsh chemicals, this is perfect.

I loved the way this made my hair feel, literally so soft and so nice especially for someone with really thick hair. Even tho i made a bit of a mess with the coloring it was super easy to get off my skin which i loved!! I chose a color close to my actual hair color as that was my preference, and really enjoyed the way it wasn’t super heavy or dramatic on my hair.
