Kit Cat Klock Gentlemen Seasonal Edition (Autumn Delight)

I love my Kit Cat Klock! I remember seeing them in black as a kid! It’s so cute! It keeps good time. The Seasonal Edition is an ode to my favorite season in New England! Prompt delivery, good packaging. Very happy with purchase.

I thought this was adorable, but was shocked at how cheaply made it was. The clock never worked properly because the mechanism inside could not properly balance and the tail would rub and eventually stop the movement. Never mind it was incredibly frustrating trying to get two very heavy batteries into a flimsy cheap plastic clock and the eyes didn’t want to stay in their “sockets”. This was not worth the money.

Took me over an hour to set up because the parts weren't pushed in all the way, and the animations kept getting caught when the back would go on. Finally figured it out. Not worth the price but very cute when set up.

I got the Autumn themed clock, and we just love it! It's hanging in our dining room, and the tick tock of the clock is now part of our every day lives. The kids love to play games with it, and it's helping them learn to tell time on an analog clock rather than just digital!

My aunt owns an electric red Kit Cat clock she purchased in 1991. Unfortunately, electric ones are no longer manufactured. Now they are all battery-operated. We wanted to buy another one, and this autumn-themed Kit Cat clock is perfect. It's a charming piece of nostalgia, and done in colors that perfect for Fall and Halloween. The cat is bright orange with a black tail and bow tie. It is a limited edition, so you should pick one up soon before they're gone. What's great is this clock comes in a variety of colors and patterns. We plan on buying a yellow one for my son's room and an orange one for our other bedroom. A pink Lady clock will be added to the bathroom. We're cat lovers, so these clocks fit our personality and home. I just wish the eyes and tail were easier to animate. The advantage of the battery-operated clocks is that you can hang them anywhere; you're not tied to a wall outlet. The disadvantage is the magnetic system used to animate the eyes and tail on these battery-operated clocks. It is very sensitive, and where you hang the clock becomes tricky. Our Autumn clock worked well when I held him upright in my hand. However, when I hung him up on the wall in our kitchen, the eyes and tail would not move, but the clock mechanism worked fine. I checked the FAQs on the Kit Cat clock website and it stated to have the nail perpendicular or slightly angled in the wall, and don't hang the clock flush against the wall. Allow 1/2" space at the head area. So you'll need a fairly long nail. We tried this, and it didn't work. My husband suggested we move the clock slightly left at the bottom. The eyes and tail barely moved, but at least they were moving. Then after an hour, they stopped. We were about to give up and start a return on this clock, but decided to move the clock to another wall, and now he works great. Apparently the wall has to be level and vertical. Since home construction is not perfect, this clock may work on certain walls and not on others in your home. It's not easy to get the eyes and tail working, unless you're lucky and hang it on a wall with the right conditions. It's too bad the California Clock Company couldn't either make an electric version of this clock or come up with an less sensitive animation system that would readily work on any wall of your home. Other reviewers have commented that the plastic used for this clock is cheap-looking. My aunt's old electric Kit Cat clock from 1991 is made of the exact same plastic with the same thickness. So the clocks are the same quality as the electric ones from 1991. I'll admit these clocks are expensive for the materials used, but the main reason people are unhappy is because there's no guarantee the eyes and tail will animate. Update: I purchased the pumpkin orange Kit Cat clock also. He worked right away. However, I tested a couple of walls in my home by removing an existing item and hanging him up in its place. That was how I tested to see if the wall was level and vertical. Once I determined that, I put up the Pumpkin clock and he worked like a charm. I also own a black Kit Cat clock that had the same problem of the eyes not moving. Once I moved him to a suitable wall, he now works like a charm as well.

Uses the original design from decades ago. Pretty cool but the interior design for the battery compartment is weak and batteries tend to fall out. The tail mechanism requires frequent battery changes. It would be nice if they did a little more r/d to modernize the power supply.

Very cheap, thin, flimsy plastic. As other reviews stated, not worth the price at all. It never worked out of the box, tail mechanism would bind every time and not wag. Contacted company directly, they confirmed it was defective and to return it. Now they want me to cover shipping to return their defective item. Bad customer service, do not recommend especially for the price of a novelty cheap item.
