Perfect burying…..baseball bats?
Large enough to hold many long and short scary things. Material is thick and strong. The lid provides a tight seal with a sturdy cover over that one. Very nice product. I only wish I hadn’t lost mine in a boating accident. Or was it stolen? I forget. Apparently that’s a common occurrence.

Excellent tube.
So the trick to this is digging two holes. One for the tube, and one for you to work in while you dig the other hole. Buried mine with an e-tool in red clay mud, digging doesn't get much harder but I got it done. It's a great tube and I've had stuff buried in it for over a year now and it has held up well. Just realize it's very big, nearly man sized big.

Great container for my lost guns
Amazed so many folks lost all their guns and ammo in a lake or river but that is exactly what happened to me as well. I did purchase and love this container in case I do find the guns and ammo. Also bought and love the ammo container as well. Really suggest purchasing the "TechnologyLK Weapon Protection Bag with Zerust Rust Prevention and Protection 10" x 50" Zipper Closure" and some thing like the "Zerust Rust Prevention Plastabs" to prevent rust or you likely won't like what you later dig up. Hope others that lost all their guns recover them when they might be needed.

Very Large With Lots of Room
I'd avoided ordering one of these for years because they seemed expensive for what it is. Found it on Amazon with a better price and decided to try it out. I'm so glad I did. This thing is huge. It's roughly 47" tall and about 12 1/2" in diameter. There's lots of room inside this thing for whatever you want to protect from the elements. It's all plastic construction and has a screw-on, gama-type lid with an o-ring seal. On top of that screw-on lid there's a plastic lid that fits over the whole end. I'd think with some waterproof tape or something similar this tube would be impervious to moisture getting inside. I have several things I need to store inside it just to keep them safe from moisture but I don't intend to bury it. I have no doubt that if you did want to place it underground it would keep things nice and dry. I plan to toss in a few silica packets for a little extra protection. All in all I'm very pleased with this container.

Gasket is completely useless the second I opened it.
Pretty well-made, but of course, the weakness is the gasket, which is what I was hoping would not be the problem. The gasket does not stay in the channel and will allow water immediately to get into this. Now it is completely useless to me.

It's bigger than you think -- and REALLY hard to bury.
Before you buy this, you might have a really good plan on how to bury it. I tried horizontally and it ended up turning into a big hill in order to cover the whole thing up. Even then, the top was barely covered and would eventually become exposed. You'll need to rent a digging post tool and bury it vertically. Then, give yourself a lot of room to get the cover off. This tube is really big. You can fit 3 AR's in it with plenty of room to spare for other items. If you want something that will fit just 1 rifle and 1 handgun, get a smaller tube. The quality was fine. There are two lids -- one screw on and a thick cap that goes over the screw on. There is also a rubber ring that makes the screw-on water resiliant. If it's vertical then the water will go over and around the inner ring. It should last many many years.

Good stuff with a bad description
Great product! Sturdy and very roomy. But the product description is very odd and confusing. This tube measures 13"wide x 48" tall externally when fully assembled with both lids on and approximately 12" wide x 45" of usable space internally. Coincidentally these are the exact measurements of the Mono Vault model 248 which costs a lot more. Just a hint in case you're confused. I know I was. Glad I took a gamble.
