Work Sharp Professional Precision Adjust Upgrade Kit - Replacement Plates, 4 Plates

Two years ago I picked up the Worksharp Professional Precision Adjust knife sharpening kit as a total noob. Watched a handful of Youtube tutorials and sharpened my first knife. It's been a passion ever since. As other reviewers mentioned I also made a lapping film kit. It worked, but it's very slow going because it's downstroke only and the film requires constant cleaning while sharpening. If you own the Worksharp PPA sharpener, this 1.2k to 3k diamond resin kit is an absolute must have if you're as obsessed as I am with achieving the most mirror finished and unforgivingly sharp edge your skill level will allow. The grit panels, ceramic honing panel and leather strop panel that come standard with the Worksharp already deliver an excellent, super sharp mirror finished edge when used correctly. But continuing upward with this diamond resin kit delivers a dazzling mirror finish and unprecedented sharpness that makes your blade cut like whisper quiet magic. I just finished using this kit to sharpen a CJRB Tundra, a fantastic large overbuilt folder with a really cool chunky blade. I kept the factory 22 degree grind angle, and now this knifes edge has the most flawless mirror finish I've ever put on any blade. It's sharpness is at a level that doesn't even seem possible for a blade this thick. I use soapy water in a spray bottle when sharpening with all three diamond resin panels. And the super soft premium leather strop panel gets 1 micron diamond strop paste for the perfect finishing move. Worksharp hit it out of the park with these super high quality diamond resin panels. You'll be legitimately shocked by the master level mirror finish and ultra sticky sharpness they deliver. The standard Worksharp PPA is such an incredibly easy to use and highly effective sharpening kit as is. These stones make a great addition to the Professional Precision Adjust and basically turn it into the Elite minus the case. By the time you sharpen to 3000 grit you're up to a mirror shine on your edge and have created a REALLY sharp edge. It comes with the strop and two things of green strop compound.

Bought this add on kit for my work sharp pro looking to really get a better, sharper and polished edges on my collection. Used it today for the first time on my Spyderco Para 3 and love the results! - started with a 300 grit plate at 18 degrees. - went to a 400, then 600 grit plate next. - used an 800 grit plate to finish it off then did a pass with a ceramic plate. - then, I rechecked the degree angle with a digital meter as the directions say to do then used these 3 plates, ending with 3,000 grit. - I then did a pass on the strop to finish it off. Fantastic!

I bought this to try because the blanks with lapping film was a pain in the butt to use. With these three stones I can get a mirror finish almost as good as when I used the lapping film but much quicker.

Really stepped it up for getting that finer edge.

These are some of the best resin bonded diamond stones you can get to upgrade a fixed sharpening jig in my experience. These compare to Venev resin bonded stones, I can't tell the difference between them. I'm not sure where Worksharp got them from or if they're made in-house but they're AMAZING. These stones easily bring your knife to a mirror polish if you know what you're doing, not very complicated. I recommend saving this clear strop (since you likely have the pre-loaded 0.5micron strop already) for some high quality diamond compound like Stroppy Stuff or Jende Max rather than the aluminum/chromium oxide because when you're finishing at 3000 grit, you'll want a high quality diamond strop to deburr on, some people even use the 3k grit to deburr their edges. These green bars of compound have various grit sizes & can mess up your mirror polish. Otherwise, what's the point of finishing on such a nice resin bonded 3k stone? :) At the end of the day... this upgrade kit is not truly necessary for a very sharp edge, it's mostly a polishing kit as 600-800 grit are great final stones to finish & strop on. Most steels will do great with 800 grit but if you're a knife steel nerd, enjoy sharpening, or just enjoy a sparkly, mirrored edge then this kit is for you. Don't forget to add a couple drops of water & watch the Worksharp video to help you out! I sharpen diamond plated stones dry but resin bonded needs water.

Great addition to polish my knife edges to mirror like finishes. A wee bit pricey but worth it
