I already own several doll pattern books, and this one is a fine addition to my collection. It has a number of patterns that can easily be adapted to taste. I especially love the traditional coat. Once I make the first one, I am going to adapt the pattern to make a short jacket that will go perfectly with my doll's kilted skirt. The accessories are really special and add that finishing touch to the outfits. The puppy pillow would also make a nice camping pillow or set upon. The dog pattern looks like a fun project. You will have fun with this book.

This book is wonderful. It is easy to understand and great to teach a child to sew doll clothes. The choices of clothing and accessories are so cute. My niece and I took the book to the fabric store and spent time choosing fabrics. This was a fun day and she was so excited The next day we spent time sewing and seeing the clothing coming together was thrilling. The grand finale was dressing her American doll with clothing she had made. I'm not sure which one of us had more fun!

Sew Trendy is an excellent pattern for the American Girl Doll. The patterns fit so well on the actual doll and they are truly fashionable. I have tailored each outfit with a lot of detail, such as lamb's wool for coats and leopard (small scale print). My creative free spirit has run amuck with this pattern book! The pattern book it only limited to the imagination of one who uses it. It is well worth the small investment to see my grand daughters delight. Dream on and create.

I like this book, and I somewhat like the things I've made from it (I've completed the shorts and shirt from Summer Fun, and attempted the jeans). I mean, they're doll clothes and they're for my 4-year-old, so the standards aren't really all that high. So far, I've had issues with everything I've made, and I'm wondering if there is any errata from the publisher. I'm going to get worn out on this book if every single pattern requires corrections that I get to figure out myself. Here are the problems I've had: Jeans: These were a total fail for me, partially because I chose to use bad fabric, and partially because there is an error in the book. The pattern calls for 5 inches -- only 5 inches -- of elastic for the waistband. I looked to see if that elastic was meant for something else, and I looked to see if there was any other indication of a length for the elastic waistband, but alas, that was the only available measurement. So I went with it. I'm not new to clothes, but I am new to doll clothes, and I decided to trust. Let me tell you, I should have trusted my instincts. 5" is not nearly long enough, the waistband is ridiculous, and I already sewed it all together. Not such a big deal, except my bad choice of fabric makes it pretty much impossible to unpick. It will almost definitely dissolve if I try any such shenanigans, so I just decided the jeans are goners. I'll try them again, and use a smarter elastic measurement. Shorts (Summer Fun): The waistband was nowhere near the right length as cut (15 1/2 in long, sewn with 1/4 inch s.a.) -- I had to take off nearly an inch in length to make it fit the shorts as sewn. I would attribute it to my error, except that's a LOT more than a minor seam discrepancy would provide. There are only four seams, after all. The elastic seems okay on this pattern, so that's good. Shirt (Summer Fun): Slightly modified to straighten the hemline. Using the elastic measurement given in the book, the shirt's neckband is WAY too big. I know that when I sew clothes for real people, I measure elastic before sewing, and I guess I need to do that for doll clothes as well. It's not a huge deal and other than the gaping neckline, the shirt is okay. And my daughter really likes it. Overall, I do like the book and patterns, I just wish I didn't have to do so much figuring out on my own. I mean, I could do that myself without a book! So if anyone has any info on errata for this book, I would highly appreciate it. I want to make more patterns, but I'm getting gunshy and am going to try some other patterns I've recently acquired first.

The patterns are part of the book which means that even used, you will get the patterns. You must copy them. I love this book. Lots of styles and very well done. I also bought the PDF version at Annie's site online. Looking forward to making that cute jacket!

Bought this jewel of a book because I fell in love with the grey coat on the front jacket. I've already made skirts and blouses to fit a little girl's American Girl doll and am now cutting out the beautiful 18" doll-size coat. It's a fine book with well-drawn full-size patterns that fit well. Just use this book and your imagination for some lovely dolly clothes.

As I was sewing 18" doll clothes for my granddaughter, I found and purchased this book. While the pattern pieces need to be traced, the outfits came out better than traditional tissue patterns. I use parchment paper for tracing the patterns.

For those new to sewing, this works. For those who already know how to sew, this gives you the basics. From these patterns, a novice can learn how to create modern outfits that are simple and fun. If, like me, you have been sewing for decades, this book gives the classic patterns from which you can design your own versions of each outfit knowing they will fit your 18" doll properly. The book is good quality construction with colourful pictures. I am very pleased with my purchase. From these simple patterns, with a little tweeking, I can create just about any outfit I can imagine. This book is a great start for making a wardrobe of clothes for that 18" beauty. Have fun with it. I know I will : ) Definitely recommended!!!

Absolutely brilliant! I have tried a few other doll patterns and found them too fiddly and time consuming. The patterns in this book are easy to use, and give really nice results. My four year old niece will find them easy to put on her doll as several of the patterns use elastic rather than fiddly fastenings. I am also helping a 12 year old sew the patterns, and she is delighted with what she can achieve.

This is a brilliant book. It gives the patterns for all the pictures. I haven't found a book like this before.

Pas mal. Mais écrit en anglais. Je le savais mais je n'ai pas hésité quand même à l'acheter car les modèles me plaisaient.
