I hate to say it, but I love this stuff. I have sensitive sinuses and this stuff does irritate them a little but I’ve found flies in the desert do too and they avoid me big time when I’m wearing Deep Woods. I’ve tried the gentler stuff and I keep coming back to this. As soon as it gots hot in the San Diego desert the flies come out in full force; big and little. They are into people and especially your ears. Thank goodness they don’t bite but they can drive you to distraction. Obviously I’m not going to spray it around my head so I spray a little on my fingers and dab it around my ears. That seems to do the job. It lasts all day too. I’ve also started spraying my hat real good. The top and bottom of the visor and all over the outside. I let it dry then put it back on. If you put it on wet you can smell the fumes, but not after it’s dry. For my pugs good ole Amazon has “Flys-Off” made for dogs and cats. I spray some on my hand and pet their head, ears and under their chin. It works great. At first one pug would get upset but after she realized the benefit she now appreciates it. The other pug just gives me a “thanks mom” look. It does work but isn’t recommended for humans. For my sinuses Amazon has “Xlear” a saline spray with a couple mild additives that is incredible. It even got my ancient saliva glands going again! It comes in a pump or squeeze bottle. So bugs beware...we’re not afraid to use the tough stuff. Watch out or I’ll plug in my 70’s electric bug zapper and then you’ll be real sorry! (Also available you know where!)

I have used this brand for a long time even when it was just regular off. Now there are many choices. All that matters is that this product keeps mosquitoes from sucking my blood. I will keep buying products from this brand.

To deter insects, DEET is needed. I am "the one" the insects love, and this has helped me be able to manage the outdoors walking my dog in early morning or evening in hot Baltimore summertime.
