Great sling
I put this on my mini 14- fits very well, well made and looks good, too.

Excellent Reproduction, High Quality
Fits perfectly with my M1 Carbine and does not come loose or detach, even when moving around a lot. I've had other slings that were too thick (and, therefore, very difficult to get through the stock), but this is probably the closest I've ever had to an OG GI sling. Very pleased, and I highly recommend. One note, the color is different from what was shown. Not a huge deal to me, as I actually prefer the light green color (and I'd read reviews before buying saying that was the case), but that might be more of an issue for some.

Stocking stuffer
My wife received an M1 carbine as a wedding gift. She needed to accessorize it as any woman would with original parts. This item I ordered came at a good speed and was very good quality. Looked and feels the part. Only if they could have put that familiar canvas musty smell my fathers had it would be perfect. Went on in a minute and the wife was pleased with the look and feel of it.

I would just like to say this is an excellent value for the money. Shipping was very fast and this sling and oiler are of good quality. I highly recommend getting one of these.

after 3 attempts (with 3 different vendors) I have a good. fully functional sling for my Saginaw M1 carbine
Finally, after 3 attempts (with 3 different vendors) I have a good. fully functional sling for my Saginaw M1 carbine. It is amazing how many cheap, inferior, and just plain crappy import slings there are for this rifle. Well anyway, I'm pleased and satisfied with the "Genuine G.I. M-1 Quality Carbine Sling& Oiler. Thank you for not manufacturing junk!!!! FS in Wisconsin

On My AO
Looks great on my AO carbine. It fits a bit tight in the stock. Looks good, feels good and very flexible. Not much like the one on my friend's Universal, which is stiffer, flatter and he thinks longer. (Jokingly, I told him that his is like that because his is at least 50 years old has dried out and perhaps stretched.) He said that I needed to get a "Real" one and then showed me a few at an auction site. OK, the "Real" one was like $150 and I'd be putting it on an AO? LoL! NO! I'll stick to this cheap one. At worst it's just as real USGI as the rifle. I don't use the oiler anyway except to secure the sling and is empty to boot. Updated: I thought I had better post this here so others can see it too since I see confusion in many places on how to fasten the M1 carbine sling/oiler portion into the stock. My Dad carried an M1 carbine through WWII while he was in the Philippines as a cook. The weapon had so many memories for him that he kept one after the war. He had one as long as I can remember growing up and he, of course, familiarized me with it in the way that he had been trained. To attach the lower part of the sling, fold the tabbed end of the sling (tab on top) to make about a 10-12" loop and hang onto the folded portion of the loop where the tab is (the neck of the loop) then simply push JUST THE LOOP through the slot from the front of the stock (the left side), slide the oiler into the loop on the backside of the stock (the right side) then pull the loop/oiler back into the slot from the front by pulling on the neck of the loop (There's nothing wrong with pushing the loop/oiler from the back at the same time as long as you are pulling the loop from the front. The pulling stretches and thins the sling which helps get it in. If you just push from the back, the sling tends to bunch up in the slot making it more difficult.). On my AO with this sling, this was a tight squeeze, but it went in. There is no need to push the tab through the slot AT ALL. Guides (Including 2 videos on YouTube) that tell you to put the oiler in the slot first then snake the tab through the slot past the oiler, around the oiler while it is in the slot then back out the front through the slot past the oiler just make an easy operation much more difficult than necessary (perhaps even impossible). With many weapon/sling combinations the loop/oiler just drops right in. To get the oiler out, push the oiler/sling loop from the front side, out the backside with your fingers if they are small enough. If you were blessed with thicker fingers, some other kind of "tool" may be necessary to assist in this operation.

I however did not find a US stamp or markings of any kind on the sling or oiler like the ad claims
I have an original WW2 sling on my IBM Carbine. I needed another for my commercial copy M1 and this sling is right there with the quality of the original. I however did not find a US stamp or markings of any kind on the sling or oiler like the ad claims...
