When I use a box dye for a seriously difficult color, what I really want is a bit of smoke ( in this case, smokey steel) with whatever base color comes through. For steel, I was thinking blue, but it looks like a deep smokey purple. Turns out that I like this. Right now, my hair is still wet, but because all I wanted was smoke something, I'm writing to tell folks how to get the best out of box colors.First when I am mixing, I put Olaplex in my mix. I'm not sure how strong the developer is in here, but better safe than sorry. Also after I've had that in, I rinse until water is clear, dry, then put my own coconut leave in conditioner.What I do not expect: actual metallic sheen. Color on the box either the model or the results side. What I've got: deep black/ steely hair. Is it perfect? No. Is it good, yes!

Just got this yesterday at my local walmart bought two because i knew i was going to need 2 for my hair, this beats mixing it myself! i got so tired of mixing hair colour for silver hair and so tired of measuring out the developer per application, this made it super easy to do both and i love the silver! I can't get enough of it, the process was 30 minutes and wala back to my silver and its a silver i could only get by mixing it myself! another 30 days of silver for me!

Authentic looking gray. The color Softens after a few washes. I will use every 4 months to freshen my natural gray.

I have medium brown hair with gray, I knew this wouldn’t get it as light on the box but I thought I would get some change. You can’t see any change and I left it on for a good 40 minutes. Total waste of my money.

This dye did not even dye my hair. I have light blonde hair and nothing showed up. I followed the instructions, and left it on for 30 minutes and still nothing showed. Very Dissatisfied.
