Thank you, Scotts!
Last year as I celebrated my birthdate with a verboten dessert one evening, I heard a loud noise and felt the earth shake. I cautiously approached the backdoor, opened it and and furtively tried to see past foliage that blocked my view. I held onto the dessert, but lost my appetite once it became clear that half of the backyard was consumed by a massive tree that my neighbor said was mature before she became an occupant. It was too dark to see how much damage occurred. Daylight revealed no serious damage to either house, mine or neighbors, but the yard would never be the same. A lot of time, money and disappointment ensued. Almost anyone will tell you my yard is very important! I can spend hours gardening ignoring insects, soiled hands and achy muscles as long as I can marvel at the beauty of everything being in order.... a case of OCD? Yes! The expense of covering bald spots with sod was more than I could afford. I can finally look forward to seeing my source of contentment restored next year. Thank you, Scotts!

Works, but you have to water, reapply, and water again
I'm in Zone 9-10 in Florida, and after my son used weed killer on my St Augustine grass (he's not very bright), there were brown patches that looked awful. I decided to try these seeds because A) it wasn't too expensive and B) Well, I don't have a B. The reviews were pretty good I guess, so I gave it a shot. And I'm glad I did. Admittedly, the new grass is coming in darker and more lush-appearing than the existing Florida St Augustine, but at least it's varying shades of green. I water religiously twice a day, really soaking the seeds, and my photos will show the results I've experienced so far. There are still some brown patches that probably need another seed dosage. I put down one layer of seeds, watered, and then a few days later sprinkled some more seeds and watered again. Again - watering is key. And re-applying is key too, I believe. After about five or so days, they started sprouting. The areas in my photo that are still brown were only given one dose of seeds so I'll be buying more.

If you follow instructions it will work
It works if you closely follow the instructions. I bought this since it said it grew in shaded areas. I had a large patch of dirt that needed to regrow grass in an area with very little sunlight. I was hoping I could just sprinkle it on and have some regrow in a couple of weeks. I spread it around and then made sure to water it regularly. After a week I could see some sprouting in areas that got more sun. After another week the areas with growth had a decent density of grass coming through. Other areas I got nothing. So I went back to the empty areas and made sure to follow the instructions on prepping. The empty areas received less sunlight so I knew they would be problematic. After a week I saw some sprouting come through. Another week and have some decent growth. So it will work if you do the prepping and maintenance. I had other spots in my lawn that I just threw some straw on, but these areas aren't so picky. The EZ seed did regrow quicker than the just strawed areas which is what I was hoping for. Is the density and variety of grass perfect? Well it has left some room to be desired. Was it as EZ as advertised? Not exactly as EZ as they make it seem. So I would recommend the product but it would come with some caveats.

Filled in nicely
When I ordered this, it was already on the late side for putting down grass seed in my zone 7. I made things worse by hesitating, thinking perhaps I should wait until spring although spring sowing is not a good choice here. The large bare spots continued to bother me, so I ended up scattering the seed and hoping for the best. It didn't take long to sprout, perhaps due to its coating. My lawn now looks decent for winter, and that feels good

Works in Some Areas, Doesn't Work in Others
I got this for the guarantee grass results, but was left with 50/50 results. In some areas, you can tell the grass grows and comes in well filling out bare patches. In other areas, this stuff does not work. The big drawback is you can probably do way better just going to your local store and buying a bag of grass seed and testing your luck that way. You can probably even use this product's bucket to fill and spread the seed if you don't have the room for a regular spreader.
