Great product, highly recommended!
Updated to five stars on April 8, 2025. Ecovacs sent me another unit and this one is amazing. It seems the units I had to return may have been a part of a bad batch. The new unit has triggered zero error messages for the past few weeks, cleans and mops amazingly well after quickly scanning and mapping my rather large house in less than 30 min. The AI is responsive and well implemented. The best part, and the ultimate reason I stuck with Ecovacs, is the level of support I received, and the commitment to resolve my issues, which is super rare these days. A bit of constructive feedback on the Ecovacs app: - The cleaning log currently only reports each session as "Rooms Cleaning", along with duration of sq footage of each job. It would be substantially more useful if the log included which room(s) were cleaned in each job and what type of cleaning was done (i.e. Vac, Vac and Mop or Mop after Vac). - The bugs I reported in my original review are still yet to be fixed. Overall, I am impressed with the X8 Pro Omni and would highly recommended. Original review: I really wanted the Ecovacs Deebot X8 Pro Omni to work. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a disappointment and I would not recommend it. I saw the Deebot X8 Pro Omni at CES in January and bought it as soon as it became available on Amazon in February. Out of the box, the unpacking and setup experience was seamless and I was very impressed. The bot very quickly scanned and mapped my rather large house with little corrections. The app is pretty intuitive and I very quickly figured it out. The problems started on Day 2 of using the Deebot. It started throwing a "Bumper Stuck" error for no reason. It would do that 8 or 9 times per run regardless of whether it was vacuuming or mopping. Each time the bot was not actually stuck under furniture in any way, just sitting there waiting to be reset. To get it to continue, I would need to bump the bumper as instructed in the app, and then push the button on the bot to continue. For a modern top-of-the-line Ai-enabled bot that is supposed to vacuum and clean the house without intervention, this was a terrible experience. It is virtually impossible to leave this machine to finish the job on its own without having to bump it and reset it every few minutes. In fairness, Ecovacs email support was pretty responsive. I contacted them and they asked me to reset the bot to factory settings, then start over. That didn't help, unfortunately, as the bot kept throwing the same "Bumper Stuck" error every few minutes after reset. At some point, a piece of plastic fell out of the machine. I sent a picture to Ecovacs support and they determined that the broken piece could be causing the "Bumper Stuck" problem. Ecovacs offered to send me a replacement unit, but would not specify timeline and I decided to return it to Amazon instead as it was faster and more convenient. I immediately purchased another Deebot X8 Pro Omni as I thought the first one was just bad luck getting a defective unit. On Day 2 of running the new unit, the same exact issue started happening. "Bumper Stuck" error every few minutes without the bot actually being stuck in any way. I contacted support again and they offered to send me another replacement, without committing to a timeline again. I decided I'd had enough of unpacking, packing and repacking Deebots, so I returned it through Amazon again and have since purchased a different brand, which should be delivered in the next few days. I do like Ecovacs as a brand, but it seems they may have released the X8 Pro Omni a bit prematurely. The product needs a lot more testing to deliver to expectations. In addition to the issues described above, I discovered a few more bugs while going through the process of troubleshooting. - The app has a couple of areas that reach a dead-end blank screen, forcing you to completely kill and restart the app to get out. - When the station's dirty water tank is full, instead of showing a message to empty it, the app throws a "Robot dirty water box error" with instructions to pull the box from the bot and "clean it". Well, the dirty water box on the bot is full simply because the station's dirty water tank is full, not because it has malfunctioned, and you need to find that out by trial and error. Bottom line, not ready for prime time. I'd wait for this product to mature a bit before purchasing.

Absolutely Worth It – My Floors Have Never Been Cleaner!
I’ve had the ECOVACS DEEBOT X8 PRO OMNI for a few weeks now, and I’m honestly blown away. I’ve used a few robot vacuums in the past, but this one is in a completely different league. First of all, the suction power is incredible—18,000Pa is no joke. It picks up everything from dust to pet hair with ease, and I’ve noticed a big difference in how clean the house feels, especially in high-traffic areas. What really sets it apart, though, is the mopping system. The OZMO roller and the self-washing feature are game-changers. I used to hate cleaning mop pads, but now the robot takes care of that itself using hot water at 167°F, which makes me feel better about hygiene too. The auto cleaning solution feature is also super convenient—it adds the right amount without me having to guess or measure. The hot air-drying feature is another level of thoughtful. No more musty mop smell! Setup was surprisingly easy, and the app is user-friendly. It mapped my house quickly and lets me customize cleaning zones, which is great for skipping rooms or targeting specific spots. It’s also surprisingly quiet for something so powerful. Yes, it’s a bit of an investment, but if you want a truly hands-free cleaning solution that does both vacuuming and real mopping well, this is it. Highly recommend!

My expectations were definitely too high (as well as the price I paid for what I got.)
**Update after 6 months of using it, I'm downgrading it from 4 stars to 1 star** It's still an amazing vacuum cleaner. It deeps cleans the carpet and does a good job of vacuuming on the tile floors. BUT! the auto-empty doesn't empty itself, I have to manually clean it out every single time it returns to the base. The cleaning solution holder still has the same amount as when I first filled it, so evidently that is not being used. I have yet to figure out how to make the mop not leave streaks on the tile floors - I've set it at high water, medium water, and low water usage and all of the settings leave streaks. These are especially bad on the places where the robot rotates around table legs leaving circular streaks. The robot gets stuck a lot, sometimes over and over in the same place even when I move it to a different spot (it will just return to the same spot.) All of this means I can't leave the house if the robot is running because I will come home to a stuck robot and a vacuum dust bin that is overflowing. And it still takes forever to do any of the jobs I ask - vacuuming the two bedrooms and one closet that have carpet (400 sq. ft.) takes an hour. That's if it doesn't have to be unstuck from something. I'd throw it away tomorrow except I paid $1000 for this robot, what a dope. Original Review - Here's what's good about the vacuum part of it - it is a awesome vacuum, getting actual dirt out of my carpets. Here's what's not good - it's so good at vacuuming the carpet that the dustbin fills up, clogs up, and then doesn't empty. I have to manually clean out the dustbin after each carpeted room. Kind of defeats the purpose of an "automatic" vacuum. Here's what's good about the mop part - I'm not having to mop the floor myself. But I had to set the water "level" at 40 (high) to keep it from streaking. And it took a little bit of figuring out to set it to mop up and down the same direction as the tile planks instead of going across them so you can't see the lines of where it mops. But my main dissatisfaction with this is that it is SLOW! I have about 1200 sq ft of tile floors and it takes almost 3 hours for it to vacuum and mop. Again, not having to do it myself is worth a lot, but trying to keep the dogs off the floor for that long is a chore too.

You can stop searching now because this has it all!
Coming from a Roomba s9+, I knew that there had been a lot of innovations made in the robot vacuum space. That being said, the difference in technology and features between the s9+ and this vac/mop is similar to comparing a flip phone to today's flagship smart phones. My Roomba feels prehistoric after using my new x5 Omni Pro for the last few days. Everything just WORKS and doesn't cause me ongoing headaches from error messages, getting stuck, disconnecting from the WiFi, or just simply being so loud that the neighbors complain (true story btw). I have been biding my time over the last few years waiting until I found the perfect robot mop/vac combo that had all the features that were important to me for under $1000. Had the Eufy S1 Omni Pro been priced around this I would have gone that route, but the m5 Pro Omni was my 2nd choice but was priced right at the top of my budget so that's how I got here. My first robot vac that I got in 2020 was an entry level Ecovacs Deebot and it was a solid product so I trusted the Ecovacs brand, and let me tell you that they DO NOT DISAPPOINT. The features on this thing are too many to count offhand but here are favorites of mine that stick out: 1. Recordable video monitoring. -I found this while just messing around with it but it's just a cool feature that I'll probably never have practical uses for. See video for example. 2. Seamless connection to 5 ghz wifi network. - It's annoying how many smart devices in 2024 still only connect to 2.4 ghz. I know there are work around to circumvent this issue, but for once I just wanted to have a robot vac that just worked. 3. An equal focus on mop functionality similar to the vacuum features. - A recurring issues I kept finding while researching for a new vac/mop was that even the ones that could automatically switch from vacuum to mopping, it always seemed like the mopping features always came secondarily. Seeing that I have all hardwood floors I wanted something that had equal focus on both or even greater focus on the mopping. The m5 Pro Omni mop function works incredibly well and handles my apartment with no issues. Even switching from flooring to my rugs, it handles it like a breeze. I also like that over the course of cleaning my entire 1100 sq ft apartment that it will return to the station to clean the mopping pads countless times to make sure the mop pads are always clean. The frequency that it does so is adjustable in the app. Overall I bought this for one simple reason, to make my life easier. My old Roomba seemed to create just as many problems as it did solutions. This Ecovacs on the otherhand just works with no issues at all. And as a tech enthusiast, experimenting with the different features this thing packs is just a delight. Is it a lot of money to spend? Yes. Is it bound to be cheaper on less than a year? Also yes. Ultimately these things are going to exponentially improve as the use of AI become standard, so here's my recommendations. BUY THIS IF.... - You have a Roomba s9+ (or other robots from before 2020) - Have a home that's over 70% hard flooring - Love new technology and smart homes - Enjoy things that you can "set and forget" - Are certain you want a new robot but are unsure of which to buy. DO NOT BUY IF.... - You already own a robot with auto mop/vac functionality. - Don't really care about the bella and whistles of new technology. - Dont need a robot with a robust mop feature set. Hope you enjoy as much as I have if you ultimately decide to purchase this!

Your personal cleaning nanny!!!
The DEEBOT vacuum is one of those robots that makes you wonder how you ever cleaned without it. Yeah, it’s pricey no sugarcoating that but if you’ve got a big space or just really hate dragging out a vacuum and mop every few days, this thing is your personal assistant to do for you. First off, the 18,000Pa suction doesn’t play around. It picks up everything crumbs, pet hair, even the weird debris that magically appears in corners. And the mopping, 167°F hot water plus that spinning roller actually gets rid of dried-on gunk instead of just smearing it around. No half-hearted swipes here. But the real win is how hands-off it is. Map your house once, set a schedule, and boom wake up to clean floors without lifting a finger. The self-emptying bin, auto mop washing, and even hot-air drying mean you’re not constantly babysitting it. (No more stinky, damp pads festering in a corner—thank goodness.) I was skeptical about the price at first, especially with cheaper bots out there, but after weeks of use, I get it. This isn’t just a vacuum; it’s a set-it-and-forget-it system. If you can swing the cost, it’s worth every penny for the time and back pain it saves. Plus, yelling the voice command clean the kitchen! never gets old. Final verdict, Expensive! Yes. But if you hate cleaning as much as I do!! Absolutely worth it.

Excellent for large home with multi surfaces. Will Need to be patient with app and maintenance.
Excellent little cleaner of both carpet and bare floor. It figures out what to do where without you telling it to mop or vacuum. It is fast, and it has been a LIFE CHANGER for me on my tile and wood flooring. The app was designed by someone who thought like a German. (Deep, complicated, thorough, but not necessarily super easy to figure out.) If you can figure it out, it's super helpful. There are many levels and layers to the app. After 9 months, I am finding it easier and a lot more helpful than I did in the beginning! You can even take a video of wherever the little guy is cleaning if you want to. That is helpful for when it is stuck-- I can turn on the video (as long as it's not out of battery) to see where it got lost. It hasn't been perfect, but some of that is my fault. I bought replacement brushes, and even though it SAID on Amazon it would work, the vacuum was stopping at every turn and complaining of something. So I eventually bought ANOTHER set of brushes, and those worked. Every time I need to replace a part (mop, etc.) I have to look up how to do it because it isn't super easy. Because it works so hard, some parts get VERY DIRTY. I have had to take it apart (and I am no engineer), and it is a little bit intimidating. The support chat has been quite good to respond and emails me instructions. They have so far been as good as their word. My vacuum has been leaking water from the base, and I contacted them today. They sent me detailed problem shooting along with photos so I could tell what they were talking about. It has also been emitting a strong odor of mold. I took out the tray below and found mold. It might be because the tray was misaligned and then water got trapped. I've been using Lysol and hot water to clean out the tray. So, would I buy it again? Yes, but with my eyes wide open as to keeping it clean, and knowing I would have to learn to take it apart and clean parts that get VERY DIRTY. I don't know if there is a simpler version out there, but overall, I am very satisfied with the technology and the cleaning power. I wish it were just slightly less tall, because occasionally it will get stuck under a low chair or couch, but with it's mopping power, I don't know if that is a logical desire. This is the 1st Ecovac I have purchased. I have previously owned Shark (good, but lowsy app control), i robot (great app, but didn't last very long).

This thing actually does what it says
I’ve used a few cheaper models over the years and they always ended up being more hassle than help. The DEEBOT X8 Pro OMNI is the first one that really feels hands-off. It maps out your home well, avoids socks and pet bowls, and doesn’t get stuck in random corners. The suction is insanely strong – like actually pulls pet hair out of rugs. The mopping is also way better than expected – not just dragging a wet cloth, it actually scrubs, and then it goes back to the dock and washes the mop with hot water and dries it. No musty smells, no gross mop pads to clean. It even empties itself and adds cleaning solution automatically. I barely touch it except to refill water once in a while. I work full time and have pets, so having something that just quietly takes care of the floors is a game-changer. Yeah, it’s expensive, but if you want something that truly works and saves you time, it’s worth it. Wish I got it sooner.

Buy this robot vacuum. This is advice from a Dad and Husband. You will not regret it.
I've rarely been a first adaptor of technology. I usually want manufacturers to work out the kinks before I invest my money. This is the first robot vacuum that I've ever purchased, as of 2021. I got this for myself, my wife, and our baby. With a dog and 2 cats, since having a child, our home has needed much more vacuuming and I was over it. So after much research, I landed on purchasing this robot vacuum from ECOVACS. All-in-all, this thing is awesome! We absolutely have mostly stopped manually vacuuming since this companion entered our home. We only use a manual vacuum to occasionally touch up our floors, such as around the edges of the floor, in hard to reach areas that the robot vacuum can't reach/fit into or if we break something, like a glass, that needs immediate attention. Still, we rarely manually vacuum despite this. However, it's important that you appropriately set your expectations for what you receive when purchasing this vacuum. First off, this vacuum is NOT a ticket to get out of jail from all vacuuming responsibilities. You do not set it and forget it, regardless of which robot vacuum you buy. Like all vacuums, this vacuum requires maintenance and the sooner that you get in check with this, the sooner you won't get disappointed. You will need to empty its dust tray/bin (where all the stuff it vacuums up goes) after each and every use. Transalation: it's not a bottomless pit where everything it vacuums up goes to be stored. Yes. The success of this vacuum is entirely dependent on your ability to empty what it vacuums up. Secondly, you need to regularly clean its brustles and brush. Hair (of all kinds) wraps up around the vacuum's brush and can prevent it from spinning. You need to remove that hair regularly to maintain the vacuum's ability to clean your floors. Fortunately, ECOVACS provides a tool to help you in this pursuit that you shouldn't ever lose because it attaches to the vacuum itself, underneath the flip-up lid on top of it. Thirdly, while this vacuum also mops, it doesn't sanitize your floors. Instead, it uses water and an absorbent pad to pickup any fine dust that the vacuuming left behind. It doesn't heat up the water. It's not steam. It's water. You can't add any cleaning detergent to it to enable it to kill bacteria, such as alcohol, vinegar, soap, bleach or any mopping detergent, like Pinesol. You should not expect it to mop your floors in the traditional sense. This is not the purpose of the mopping capabilities of this vacuum. HOWEVER, while this is different, it shouldn't deter you from purchasing this robot vacuum. Instead, interpret the vacuum's mopping capabilities as an enhancement to its vacuuming function. It definitely complements its vacuuming ability to pickup fine dust/dirt and "present" clean floors. Bottom line: it does a tremendous job of vacuuming floors. If maintained well and used appropriately, it will do an excellent job of vacuuming your floors. This vacuum is AWESOME on both tile and carpet. It's dynamic power control is excellent. I plan to purchase from ECOVACS again to get a robot vacuum for our upstairs. I'm very pleased with this vacuum and would definitely purchase it again. Lastly, please note that I did not receive any compensation whatsoever for this review. I purchased this vacuum with my own money. In fact, I mostly only post negative reviews on Amazon (check my profile), but I was so impressed by ECOVACS that I needed to post this review to let others know that it's legit. I absolutely recommend this robot vacuum. (2021.09.14) UPDATE: One thing you need to do differently with this vacuum is, before you run the robot vacuum, you'll need to clear your floors of anything it might get stuck on, such as usb chargers, loose clothes, blankets, etc. Also, you might find that the vacuum can get stuck on things you wouldn't initially expect. For example, our coffee table has thin (3/4 inch square) chrome, metal legs that are connected horizontally along the floor by the same type of chrome metal bar. This is the one spot in our home that the vacuum gets stuck on. We solved this issue by placing thick, heavy books at each end of our coffee table by these metal bars. This way, when the vacuum approaches them, it senses the books and doesn't attempt to go over the metal bars anymore. Tip: We set up our vacuum to clean our floors at 3am each night (you'll be surprised how much dirt it sucks up everyday, but we do have a dog, 2 cats, and a baby). So, before we go to bed, we make it a point to pickup or move any loose items on the floor that might get in the way of the vacuum, as well as position the two heavy books to prevent the vacuum from getting stuck. Other than these things, the vacuum is able to go over or maneuver around most things. You'll figure this out on your own as you use it. Lastly, I'm being picky on this one. My only annoyance with the vacuum - and admittedly, this is petty - is when the vacuum talks to you, it sometimes says things somewhat loud and other times softly. Again, not a big deal. I just wish the vacuum's voice had a consistent volume level. This doesn't interfere with the robot vacuum's primary purpose - vacuuming.
