The smell is wonderful! Light lavender. Not like the strong biofreeze. The difference though is the biofreeze works better for pain than the icy hot. It says icy hot more menthol but it does not seem so. Will use biofreeze for pain and icy hot for a dreamy nights sleep

I've been using ICY/HOT patches on and off for years to treat period cramps. I've found them to be very effective but the on/off part has to do with the cost, like $1.50 per patch and that a box only comes with five patches. A hassle to re-up on them often. Not a huge expense but one I don't enjoy incurring. Not to mention the strong odor isn't one I enjoy having to wear to the office.This roll-on is much better for my needs. More cost effective, don't have to buy a new one every month (easily fits in a bag, more discreet application.) The lavender scent helps when you need relief and have to be in public, and most importantly just as effective as the patches.

The media could not be loaded. This roll-on version of Icy Hot is easy to use and keeps the application neat. The liquid gel glides on smoothly, making it simple to target sore spots without getting any on your hands. The lavender scent is a nice touch, replacing the usual Icy Hot smell with something more calming for bedtime. It’s perfect for applying right before sleep, especially if you want relief without the strong menthol aroma. Convenient, effective, and a great option to keep on hand for nighttime aches.

Obviously nothing beats bio freeze roll on. However, for the price I love having these in my purse to use as needed.
