I have been struggling on looking for the best magnetic car mount for my car. My car has unique curve on its dashboard and the surface is coarse. I bought probably five different adhesive mounts, even uses 3M dual sided tape, but they keep on peeling during hot summer days. This product is just plain stable since it uses mechanical connection with the airconditioner exhaust. It is easy to install, the magnet is strong, it comes with 2 metal plates with adhesive. What I did in my case is I attach the circular metal plate at the back of Apple's MagSafe Charger so I can charge my iPhone at the same time. You can attach the MagSafe Charger directly without adding plate but it is stronger with real iron plate. Note: Make sure you pick the right model as most of the complaints I saw are related to mismatch sizes. The rest should be perfect!

This mount is amazing! We bought a generic one to stick on the dashboard from another brand, and the adhesive wouldn’t stick so we splurged and ordered this one – it’s incredible! It’s really easy to install, was a little concerned about having to take the vents out, but I was worried over nothing. Took one minute to install and it’s so good! The magnet is really strong, and neither me or my husband have had any issues with our phones falling off. I saw someone leave a negative review because their phone kept coming off the holder, and I can’t understand why unless their phone case was too thick, in which case it’s their fault, not the mount’s! We’re really happy with this purchase though, and it’s definitely worth the money over the cheaper phone mount brands. If you have an Audi, it’s worth spending more money for a product that’s literally made for your car, because it really does work and is a step above everything else. 10/10 from me and my husband! :)

Would give 0 if I could just because I’m sure my phone has taken some licks from how many times it’s slammed into something after falling off this piece of garbage. I’m a little perplexed about how this product could be so well reviewed when mine could not be a bigger piece of trash. I’ve never had a phone stick to this mount for more than a mile and certainly no longer than 5 minutes. Ive owned 3 phones since I’ve owned this product so it’s not the metal backing plate on my phones...they all end up in my cup holder. Pound for pound, when I look at everything I’ve purchased for vehicles...this does the worst job of doing what it was actually advertised to do.

My 2018 A3 Audi has different louvers on the air vents, so most car phone holders don't work with them, plus I was not wanting to put that much pressure on air vents anyways, nor block them. I had been using a cupholder car phone platform, which worked great, but I lost an extra place to put drinks and other storage. This Clearmount product specifically fits between my dash's two center air vents, and it turns out, those two air vents just pop out, and you install the phone holder like a gasket under them, and it has a magnet in the middle, which is NOT stuck to your dash, so it does not use ugly adhesive. Plus, I was able to mount the other thin magnet to the outside of my iPhone case, and so my iPhone was not messed up either and I still can carry it with the case. For the right car, this is, in my opinion, a really elegant design.

The product is as described. I didn't know exactly how it would install and didn't pay much attention or dig very deep. It fit my car; I needed a magnetic holder for my phone; the price was right, so I pulled the trigger. If you are reading this wondering how it installs, it is basically tool-free. I used a small knife to help pull out the vents. Yes, they pull out , exactly like the instructions say they do. They are in there, so some force may be necessary but not so much that you will damage anything. I like the fact that they are snug. After both vents are out, you wrap this thing around both vents, run it all the way up to the vent tops, and push back in. It is super sharp, super tight, and an excellent fit for my phone. I couldn't be happier. A++++++++ 10++++++

I purchased this product a week ago and installed the magnetic mount. Fully tightened it was not stable compared to the clamp style mount which was stable. There is a significant difference in the "socket" dimensions of the clamp style phone mount that allows it to work better. The manufacturer knows this as they quickly responded to my emails containing pictures and video. My advise is the magnetic phone mount option wont work unless you wrap the ball socket with duct tape to create more friction which gives more clamping force.

I ordered two of these and the seller only sent one. After numerous attempts to contact Amazon had to finally refund me. Buyer beware! The product is ok. Works as expected.
