I’m honestly shocked—in the best way—because this actually works. I get severe canker sores on both sides of my tongue that grow to nickel size (yes, really). They’re so painful I’ve needed injections before, and since I talk for a living, they make it incredibly hard to do my job. I’ve tried everything, and nothing has truly helped until this. There is a brief sting when you first apply it but then the relief is almost immediate. That brief sting is nothing compared to the pain of the sores themselves. The relief is unbelievable, and I will absolutely keep this on hand at all times. Easily the most effective and least harsh solution I’ve ever found!

Best stuff ever! I made the mistake of buying Orajel first and while it's a good product, it doesn't offer much protection to cut gums so I went back to my old standby: Zilactin. Fantastic stuff! Creates a protective layer over the problem and lasts for a good while, helping the injury to heal. It tastes horrible at first; imagine using white rum to kill pain and then it tastes even worse after the initial application but that doesn't last long and it's just relief afterwards. Totally worth it. Try not to put it on top of your teeth though because it comes right off - got some on there by accident - and then it's like chewing rubber until it either wears off or you figure out how to get that small amount back off. Not worth worrying about though Not a deal breaker. :D Great product! Never fails.

As someone who loves salty foods, I have cankers from time to time. Most have little to impact to my quality of life but every once in a while I have one that hurts or bothers me to the point where I feel like I need something. I was looking on here for something to help me and really wanted to go with some type of patch/bandage but after reading the bad reviews on a few of those products, I decided to go with this product. And I'm so glad that I did. I put a little of the product on a cotton swab and dry the affected area with a paper towel as best I can and try to keep it dry by pulling my lip away from the area. While the area is still dry, I apply the product on the swab and wait about a minute before releasing my lip. I then go about my life as usual. I have had this product last over 16 hours with one application (admittedly in an area that is easy to protect). It does sting a little when first applying but my sore also hurts even when just drying it before the product - hence why I felt the need to buy something to treat and alleviate the pain and why they are called "sores." After cutting the tip off of the tube, it's very easy to apply. You only need a very small amount of product to effectively treat/protect the sore. It does form a protective barrier where applied which lessens the pain and sensitivity immensely. When I eventually run out of this product or it expires, I will be buying more. I've tried several other products over the years and nothing has worked like this, nearly as well as it does and for as long as it does. I will say that if your sore is in an area that is more exposed than my current one, you may need to reapply more often but it does work. Just make sure the area is dry prior to application and kept dry for about a minute after application.

Probably the best canker sore treatment I've tried so far after trying many. Like many treatments it's pretty painful when applying it, but does provide quick pain relief. How well you apply it partly determines how long it will stay on, but I've never gotten it to last 6 hours. Also it tends to come off while eating. That being said, it's not a huge deal to just reapply the stuff afterwards. Getting the gel to stick to the inside of your mouth is a bit of a challenge, but much easier if you use a q-tip. For me it doesn't seem to have any effect on how long the sore takes to heal, but it's the best treatment I've found for the pain in the meantime. Well worth the purchase.

When used correctly, it numbs the wound for a bit and creates a strong film cover to protect your mouth or gum sores for hours. I could talk, eat, and drink without any pain! The coverage also helps block out the irritants (pieces of food, acidic drinks, lips/tongue/teeth) from rubbing up against your sores and making things worse or slowing down the healing process. BUT if you don't let the product dry fully, it will mingle with your saliva, numb your tongue, and leave a rather bitter taste in your mouth. I learned that the hard way from my first application... So I definitely recommend letting the solution dry for 1 minute. It does sting a bit when you apply it, like a small alcohol sting on a wound or cut, but it didn't really hurt and it only lasted a second or two. I wore this for about 8-9 hours before the solution started to peel off on its own. DO NOT try to peel it off before it comes off on its own as it is a strong adhesive and will make your wound bleed. All in all, this stuff really helps and I definitely recommend anyone with mouth sores to try this out!
